The Frozen Philosopher

We will leave this life with none of our worldly possessions. We judge those who have gone before us on how kind they were to others or how successful they were in amassing wealth. Such a status can only be applied by our peers, so I cannot see how greed and the hoarding of wealth could be anything but a sociopathic insecurity.

I see goodness as a deliberate action, not merely the lack of an evil one.

The downfall of humanity will begin and end when a person relies upon a single voice to read the words of the wise to them.

It costs you nothing to stand in your own space, keep your mouth shut, and not threaten the space of others.

How dare you look upon the youth with admonishment towards their demands for today. Progress is a relentless struggle forward, and you have no right to demand a break because you are comfortable or tired. Stand up and help, or sit down and shut up.

There is an unfathomable depth in life; to spend our entire existence safely upon the surface out of fear is to never truly understand who we are or what we are capable of.

Saying this in the face of violence perpetrated against the innocent has allowed us to avoid being aware of our behavior towards each other. An economy cannot be broken because, by its very nature, it pits us against one another. We are in a constant state of competition for everything we don’t need, at the expense of everything we are desperate for. We have sold our souls for isolated comfort, and we are just now realizing that it is cold and damp, lacking any of the warmth of the communities of our social infancy.

“People seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of macroeconomics. The more money a government prints, the weaker their currency becomes. The weaker it gets, the more they must allow inflation to increase, thus leading to the inevitable devaluation of their currency. Add in the variable of individuals that hoard that currency, thereby limiting access to the rest of the population to mass buying power, and the only possible result is frightening: people must work harder for less, just to survive. And yet, they blame it on their fellow poor, the homeless.”
