I've spent this year doing rendering studies of different things each day, and I really do feel myself being able to draw in a less structured, and more flowy way! This is all just to say, looking at your studies inspire me. Looking at your studies give me a glimpse into your process and the way you look at the world. Before I started doing studies of my own, I probably would've just seen really amazing aesthetically looking art! But now I feel like I can actually... kind of see how you break down these shapes in your mind? And whay colours are important to you for contrast and to create atmosphere... It's really beautiful.

I actually tried to render a pinetree a couple of weeks ago for my daily prompt, and I felt a bit stiff doing it to be honest. I was looking at a photo of a pine tree, and I could feel the colours but getting all the snow on the leaves in the approximate right locations just by looking at it was a looot of mind work. Looking at your pine trees... It looks so freeing!!! I can really see your love for drawing them shine through in your loose strokes.

I think I've really found a love for the process of honing my technical art skills this year, and I really see that in your work. You've really reinforced my determination to keep going with my studies! Thank you so much for such lovely art :) And good luck with the new game you're working on!

To me, studies sometimes feel not-as-sexy as more creative art, but often nature itself is more beautiful than anything I could come up with on my own. Pine trees in particular are such a beast to draw, and I've found myself coming back to them over and over as a way to measure my art progress. It helps that snow is gorgeous and I like to pretend I'm far away in that wintery wonderland.

Something that I found regarding landscape art is that it's easy to get caught up in the details, because there's just SO much going on. I'd suggest doing some pixel art studies of pine trees or whatever you're studying, since it'll force you to focus on the bigger picture.
