Dear Noé,

Thank you for writing, and congrats on your master’s degree! I stayed at 18SAC for all of March 2022, and recommend it highly. Everyone on staff was very supportive, providing visiting artists with many opportunities to hold one-on-one critiques, and/or gallery walk-throughs with other folks within the complex.

That said, you have unrestricted solo time in the live-work studio, and access to a range of tech and tools. My stay was hugely productive (mostly writing, and developing a dance-theatre piece).

Location upside: proximity to the ocean. Location downside: severe lack of culture in Santa Monica as a whole. But of course, Los Angeles’ galleries, museums, and film spaces are relatively nearby.

Please don’t hesitate to follow up in future with any questions - i check this space only periodically but am always happy to help.
