Well that's a wrap! Had fantastic journey these past few months. It was truly a great experience. I think I learned a lot about my self and how I relate to other people throughout the world. Made some great friends and great memories!

COPENHAGEN Had a great to trip to Copenhagen with my parents! Saw lots of castles and rode this crazy swing ride in Tivoli park.
CINQUE TERRE
Just a few more photos =]
CINQUE TERRE
This place is seriously the most gorgeous place I've ever seen. The hills were covered in vineyards and the towns were quite quaint. We only went into Manarola, but there's five villages that line this northern coast line. We stayed in La Spezia, which is about 20 min from this area. There are hiking paths between the towns as well as a train, but we didn't have time to get to them all. Can't wait to go back!
PISA
There was an illuminating festival going on the evening we arrived in Pisa. Of course it was all in Italian, so we weren't really sure what it was all about, but the river was pretty.Â
Also, GIANT fire extinguisher! It was in the church.

PISAÂ
We spent the morning/afternoon in Pisa. We stayed as this nice, tiny bead & breakfast in the town. It was about a 10 min walk to the tower area. We also at lunch at this really good spaghetti place.
We were looking at menus as we walked down the main street and one place looked ok, not too expensive, but this lady sitting there met my eyes and just started shaking her head noooo. She said it was totally not worth it, so we kept walking and found this other great place. It was a nice little family restaurant.Â
FLORENCE
The Duomo! This is the Basilica of Saint Mary the Flower and is the main church of Florence. It is one of Italy's largest churches and remains the largest brick dome ever constructed.Â
FLORENCE
We stayed at this great hostel in Florence, A little far away from the city center, but nothing we couldn't take a bus to. We started at the Ponte Vecchio and walked around the area outside the Uffizi museum. We also went to the Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens. It was a really nice place. The building used to be the royal apartments.Â
There's also this thing that if you touch the nose of the boar fountain you will return to Florence one day!Â
ASSISI
We visited Basilica of San Francesco d'Assisi (St. Francis) and walked around the town after our castle visit.
Then we headed back to the car and hit the road for Florence.
ASSISI
The landscape around this hilly town is breath taking! We drove from Rome to this quaint little town for the afternoon. We spent most of our time at Rocca Maggiore, a fortress that sits atop the town and gives views over the valley region below.Â
The town is filled with rich history of medival times and was the home of St. Francis and St. Clare.

We ended the day with a sunset bike ride through the city. We biked from the Colosseum area to north end of the city and back. Stopping by the Spanish steps and the Fontana di Trevi on the way. We biked along the river for a while, which was quite nice. Not a lot of people and really pretty. The sunset light made the red brick of the buildings glimmer.Â
All in all, a very good first day of the trip.Â
We then headed to Vatican City, Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon.
Piazza Navona had all kinds of streets artists and I bought a lovely poppy painting. =] The poppy's were everywhere! They're so lovely.Â
ROMA
We started the day at the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. There was hardly a crowd yet (granted it was about 9:30am..) so we got in right away.
Here's the path we took. Starting in Rome.
Italy: The greatest of all road trips!
The set of posts will take you through my trip through Italy with Jack, Hannah and Debbie. We started in Rome and snaked through the country all the way to Venice.Â
We rented a car (a rather large car.. on accident I might add) and drove our way through country. We the plains of Tuscany, the cliffs on the coast and the mountains in between. We covered six gorgeous and historically rich cities in only six days. it was quite an adventure.Â
Hope you enjoy the photos!
