Finn froze before raising an eyebrow when he heard her. "Uhm." He didnt know how to get out of this one while sitting the door down and laid it against the door frame.
He quickly shoved his hands into his pockets while nodding a lot. "Yeah, totally." He said, before itching the back of his head. "I can pay for the repairs." He swallowed thickly and knew he avoided her question.

"You mean like, from Irish folklore?" Looking up at him as she kept mixing the batter, Rachel crinkled up her nose. "I thought those only scream when someone diedā¦ or is about to die." The realization that seems to flood her face at that moment seems to drain it entirely of blood, as well, and she looks around the room, as though sincerely concerned for a few long moments, unable to keep her focus on baking at all. "Oh my god. Have I beenĀ killing people?!ā Sheād never even considered that possibility before, but now it seemed almost silly for her not to have.
Finn felt his eyes go wide when he heard her comment. "No, no, no." He said, trying to calm her down. "Hey, no. Alright, I am sorry that I said that. Fuck." He said after carefully sitting down his glass and putting his face into his hands. He knew if he didnt calm down himself, he would be starting a fire in her kitchen and he didnt want her to freak out. Smooth one Hudson. He thought while rubbing his face. He pushed himself off of the counter and opened up her door, having it off one hinged. He quickly tried fixing, but it failed.

"Itās really like anything else that you do because youāre used to it and it makes you feel better about yourself and happier and healthier." Rachel considered her words for a moment, nodding to herself as she opened the fridge and took out some ice, bringing the tumbler to him so he could fill his own glass as desired, stalling only when he mentioned Glee club.
"Oh." There was a pause in her voice as she took in a deep breath, offering him a deceptively bigger smile. "I always wanted to be a part of Glee club, actually." Ducking her head, she paused, trying to debate telling anyone at all about this, but finallyā deciding to relent. Finn seemed like a really nice guy, and it wasnāt like she had anyone else to tell other than her dads. "ā¦ have you ever heard of the sirens in The Odyssey? Odysseus ties himself up to the mast as his crewmen sail past with plugs in their ears so they wouldnāt hear their song, as it would make a man mad with wanting of the sirens and their song. As such, they killed many men that tried to get to them. Soā¦ I do thatā¦ and glass tends to shatter. So they wonāt usually let me singā¦ anywhere within a five-mile radius of a building that utilizes glass or porcelain or something fragile in some way. Itāsā really destructive.ā And from the sound of it, she has a lot of experience with that happening, though it doesnāt seem to be an entirely happy thing in the least. But then againā why would it be?
"Exactly, yeah." Finn replied, thanking her for the ice cubes and added them into his drink.
Finn felt his eyebrow raised, while taking a sip from his glass. "Yeah of course." He sat his glass, before hopping onto one of their counters before realizing that he shouldn't have done that. "Oh? Like can you actually sing without breaking the glass? Almost sounds like a bashee." Finn said, taking in the news he just received and bit his bottom lip softly while he debated if he should tell her about his powers.

"Yeah, I grew up that way," Rachel nodded, pulling out a bowl scale, some utensils, and their copy of the old recipe, starting out by pouring in flour to the correct amount. Setting the bag back down, she pulled out the iced tea carafe, pouring them both a good amount before sliding Finnās over to him. "Ice or no ice?"
"Iām going into musical theatre," Rachel declares proudly, biting her lip. "I just need people to stop becoming so upset whenever I singā¦ first." Clearing her throat, she looks up at him at his remark with a small smile. "What would you teach?"
"I bet its nice." Finn guessed, wasnt for sure what to say. He nodded as the brunette spoke and took another look around. "Ice please." He replied, grabbing his glass and smiled at the girl.
"Oh?" He said, before taking a drink of his ice tea while raising an eyebrow at her confession. "Why do they?....." He swallowed and shrugged when she asked her question. "High school glee club actually."

"Well, it justā¦ it needs real dairy products and eggs, thatās all. Which means that this is not going to be the most pleasant place to be after the cake is cut, butā¦ heās my grandpa, and heās turning seventy, so. We figure he deserves it." Pausing in front of the fridge as she pulled out a few additional things to set on the counter, she bit her lip for a moment before glancing back at him. "Can I get you something? Juice, water, iced teaā¦ hot teaā¦ coffee?"Ā
Getting out two glasses for them, she shrugged. āMy dads arenāt around a lot because theyāre both lawyers, so I donāt get to see them that often, but it also means I have the house to myself more, andā¦ they donāt mind that Iām living with them while I take classes, so it saves money for everyone involved. What about you?ā
"Yeah, that's understandable. So, its just you and your dads who are vegans?" Finn asked, before watching her get a few extra things and then leaned against the counter. He raised an eyebrow while listening to her and gave her a soft smile. "Um, ice tea please."
Finn slowly nodded while hearing her. "What kind of classes are you taking?" He cleared his throat some. "Well, I go to Ohio State for my BA in Education." Finn said.

It had been a confusing couple of days. People were being nice to her, guys wanted toā¦ spend time with herā¦ it was odd, especially for someone who was used to getting noticed for absolutely nothing other than busting storefront windows when trying to break into song in the middle of a Macyās (it really hadnāt been her fault).Ā
But Finn seemed nice and well-intentioned enough, and he was helping her out, so she really didnāt mind his assistance in this, catching her breath when she hears the doorbell, skidding out into the entryway in her socks, smiling widely as she opened the door. āYou made it! Iām so glad! Hereā come in, I can take thoseā¦ā Gathering the ingredients into her hand, she quickly carried them back into the kitchen, carefully setting them up on the counter with a smile. āNormally we just use substitutes, but itās aā¦ finnicky recipe, and Iām tired of having to throw otherwise perfectly good dough away just because the cake isnāt coming out right, you know?ā
Finn smiled and nodded. "Yeah, I made it and alright." He replied, before following her into the house and looked around. Finn furrowed his eyebrows slightly, remembering that she's a vegan. "Oh, how finnicky are you talking about?" He asked, slipping off his sunglasses and then nodded. "Yeah, kind of actually." He answered. He gave her a small smile when he entered the kitchen. "So, your dads? What do they do?" He figured that he was going to spend time with her, matter as well get to know more about her.

Finn made sure he had everything ready to go before leaving his house to head to Rachel's. He wasn't for sure how well he's going to be at baking, since Kurt was the baker in the family and he was the eater of the bake goods. He kept looking down at the address, and made sure that he didnt end up in a wreck. Once he was there, he grabbed his things and the food that he promised to bring with him. He gotten out, carefully carrying the food in his arms and headed up towards her front door.
