This was hilarious. Seriously. I have no other words to describe it. Simon's rambling is as ridiculous and adorable as always (and Raphael clearly agrees).Â
8/10
"My friend is out of town and Iâm supposed to be taking care of her pet fish but it died and you work at the pet store help me find one that looks the same so she wonât notice!"
This plot is well known, so it's not like you'll be surprised at any point. No, what you should read it for are characters. I love the way Raphael was portrayed. He is the sarcastic and dramatic Raphael we all know and love, but he flirts so much I just can't and he's still very much in character. And do we love Raphael speaking spanish? Of course we do! Well, there are no whole sentences, more like spanish endearments, but for me it's quite enough.
On the other hand, Simon is a stressed out rambling mess that's smitten with Raphael at first sight and as big of a nerd as always. I laughed the hardest and laudest at the things he said/thought and I can tell you that he has a deep knowledge of inner working of soulmates and he's ready to share ... but maybe later. When he'll stop taking baths in Raphael's literally like melted chocolate from Dunkin Donuts eyes. He's so flustered with Raphael's flirting he unfortunately (for him) starts to flirt back. And apparently this Simon is even more dramatic than the real one (i didn't know it was even possible), so he dies and almost gets married every 5 seconds. So, in short, I love him â¤ď¸
There are also mentioned other ships like Malec or Clizzy, but as it's a short fic, there won't really be much of them in there. And let's not forget about one of our main characters! Â Chairman Meow! He may not have a lot of "screen time" but he has one of the most important roles here. After all, Si would never meet Raphael if not for him đ Â
Read it for the sense of humor. I know that it won't be as hilarious for everyone as it was for me, but I was dying while reading it. Sometimes it was Simon's rambling, sometimes jokes or situations, but sometimes it was a sentence just so beautiful and beautifully used that I died inside a few times while laughing hard on the floor. So, yeah, read it if you want to laugh and just have an awesome time.
