I’m starting to show too.

It’s even better than I imagined baby. Oh, I love you so much. 

 Evan… I’m pregnant.

W-.. You’re.. Did you say.. Did I hear that right.!? Pregnant.?!

 Well why can;t you just write from home? I don’t understand why you have to be in the stupid office at all hours of the day just to write. I just want you to cut yourself a break and myself a break. You’ve been working so much over-time and I miss my husband and our boys miss their father. 

I don’t know Brooke, I write as much as I can from home but some things I just need to work on there. I am mostly working on group projects, research, making sure the work is right from my boss. I miss my wife and I miss my boys. You don’t know how bad I just want you guys there with me. Or I wish I was home. I have been working on some things on my own. My name is starting to get recognized, I may have a shot at this. If someone notices my work, no more working for a company. It can just be me. Just have a little more patience. In the meantime, I will try to work on how I can move the office to my home. And, I have a date to make up to you. I don’t want to be the husband that was never there, I don’t want you to ever think you are a single mother. I’m sorry. 

Sometimes I need a break. Managing twin boys, a household, and a company is a lot for one person. Ask for a vacation or something, Evan, I don’t know. Go back to work at the car shop. We aren’t exactly that desperate for money. My designs and clothes bring in lots of money. I need you at home more than I need you working.

I know you do Brooke. It is a lot, you are doing a hell of a job. I mean I could try, it doesn’t mean it will get approved. Really? Go back to the car shop? You don’t think maybe I like writing? Like I just did this all for the money? This is what I always wanted to do, since I was younger. My dad did this, I knew it was going to be like this. This is how it was supposed to be. You were supposed to own your own company and I was going to be this big journalist. We made it. And we have a beautiful family. It’s more I could even ask for. I’ll try to take some sick leave, or say my wife wants me back at my high school job.!

I’m with the boys literally 24/7. When they’re sick, I’m taking care of them and rushing them to the doctors and giving them their medicine. When they’re cranky I’m the one at the house listening to them scream because everything I try to calm them down doesn’t work. I’m up a lot of nights because they can’t sleep. My entire schedule is based around them and you and yet I never even see you anymore, Evan. I know you’re doing everything you can to bring money into the house but I have a company to run too. I can’t do everything at once by myself.

I don’t know what you want me to do. The least I could do is bring them into work but they would be at the day care all day. I thought they would rather be with their mother. I-I don’t know what to do. I can’t just get up and leave whenever I want. This isn’t like when I was working at the car repair shop. 

 And I really thought I wasn’t going to be a single mother but I guess I was wrong about that too. Don’t worry about it. You do what you have to I’ll see if Kat can come over.

You really call yourself a single mother..? How about when I am home, and I stay up all night if I have to if the boys are not sleeping. Or when I hold you close to me when I am drifting to sleep. You’re still a single mother? I do everything I can for you and our family. I took this job to help us, it’s also something I always wanted to do. I’m trying here Brooklyn. But if you want to act like a single mother, so be it. I will be sleeping on the couch tonight. I’ll stay out of your way. 

And I am honored to be your wife and call you my husband. And the father of our children. We really should.

It’s a dream come true baby. I wake up everyday with the kids in the bed and you sprawled out over the bed and I couldn’t ask for anything so perfect. They really like monkeys. I get a bit of a break from work during this week and next so I think we should take advantage of that.
