Our first official meeting as a merged group. We managed to discuss our event idea: a grand opening for Red Rooster - a newly opened American Diner in Falmouth. {{professional group email agreed upon: [email protected]}}

Client Idea Focus:  “Red Rooster will be the first popular American focused Diner in Falmouth, Cornwall. A distinctive competency of this restaurant is encouraging the demographic focus of families and children. 

The unique venue space has scope for children’s parties as well as a stylish and stylised meal out. The Diner will also target the local community ensuring a sustainable business maintaining opportunities to expand and develop a reputable status. 

The restaurant will display the culture of America in a classic and tasteful way and provide a distinctive atmosphere for customers. The core values of the business will be to promote fresh and local ingredients, resonate family orientated social cohesion and educate the public about American culture and old school blues music.”

WK1 8-11 FEB: Shakira off on Tuesday and Wednesday so no face to face discussions on the expansion of idea could be had. Meg off all week.

WK2 15-18 FEB: Shakira off to see her nan. Meg back on Monday.

THURS 18TH FEB: I wasn’t a Uni due to not feeling too swell. The group merge had happened and their initial meeting was today.

MON 22ND FEB: Myself, Tamara and Mg were the only ones present at the meeting - we attempted to formulate ideas - a.k.a trying to hybrid our two previous ideas together. The Food Fayre - Moorish and the African Event at Cribbs. This was unsuccessful so we arranged anothr meeting.

TUE 23RD FEB: Continuous failed attempts to meet up as a group throughout the day. Due to lateness (Reece) and pre-scheduled meetings (Meg)

MEETING NO: 2

MEETING TIME: 30 minutes (spread out over our finance seminar)

MEETING PLACE: PSpace

Meg is still away. I wrote some ideas down on my pad and Shakira and I discussed them during/ and after the seminar.

We managed to agree on caterers, a few circus acts, some entertainment acts and some musicians.

I met Joe Downes (busker) outside WHSmiths and recruited him. I spoke to Terry yesterday about employing his catering business Salvador Tali, and he was keen to provide his services.

Meal for Two for £2 Event.

This is the second week after receiving my assignment brief. At first, I toiled over the case study as I have soo many different things that interest me. So I created some mind maps, an attempt to narrow down my main interests. 

Out of these mind maps, I chose to either write a study relating to plus sized models on catwalks or food fairs in the local region. These ideas differ greatly from each other, however I am highly interested and very passionate about both subjects. 

Today, as I headed to my seminar on Business Innovation in Events, something marvelous and completely unexpected happened! I discovered my subject! Here is the story of my discovery:

 As I danced my way off the bus and into the campus shop, my Doc Martens ripped ~ for the first time in two years! I decided to buy some super glue to douse my shoes before heading to my seminar. Instead of taking the longer route via the library, I decided to take a shortcut and go through the lower Stannary. Lo and behold! At the end of the cafeteria, there seemed to be a promotion underway

The event was focused on providing healthy and low cost meal alternatives for students. THERE IT WAS: My subject, in all its healthy, low cost, student budget friendly glory! The light bulb switched on and the choir of angels began to rejoice. 

My subject matter was chosen: It was going to be centered around Food and it would also involve students. There and then, I bought two packs of the MEAL FOR TWO FOR £2 deals and made my way to my seminar.
