Fish in the Sea cover by Sean Dagher (Sea Shanty): Im sure many pirates, pirate-likes and other sailor types visited Bingle and Loving It. You have to know a few shanties if you're going to work on the island! What better one for a Bard than talking about the creatures of the ocean? (Original song by some pirate at some point)

Love is a Losing Game by Amy Winehouse (Soul?): Burned too many times, Lily is the most hopeful person in the world for everything except love. This song is pretty self explanatory. “Memories mar my mind. Love is a fate resigned”

Off to Sleep by Cœur de pirate ( French Canadian Singer/Songwriter): The only love Lily truly accepts is platonic. And especially from her family. And, even more specifically, Granny Dumblestuck. Granny was the one who encouraged Lily to go out adventuring. Dumblestucks don't usually leave Bingle, so it's a scary thing. But Granny has much faith in Lily and her future as an adventurer. "Fly on, you golden girl! And take on your fears. I’ll be with you in your dreams. The world is darker than it seems”

Oh Love by Green Day (Poppunk): The sweet words are hard to resist. The poems are so elegantly written. But, it's only temporary. Fleeting, like always. “Tlaked myself out of feeling. Talked myself out of control. Talked myself out of falling in love. Falling in love with you.”

Cherry by Lana Del Rey (Pop) [Explicit]: ...But, the walls are down a bit. The Beach Gnome who can drink any pirate to his death, and can charm tips out of the stingiest of patron, can't keep up her old ways around him. This is frustration. “Love, is it real love? It's like smiling when the firing squad's against you, and you just stay lined up”

The Only Exception by Paramore (Pop Punk): Perhaps it's going to be different then you thought. Maybe he will stay? Maybe he means it? “And that was the day that I promised: I'd never sing of love, if it does not exist”

The Bard's Song cover by Van Canto (a capella): Lily sings her songs to pass the stories she experienced down through generations. The songs will most likely out live her. Those stories will go on to comfort those in the future. To entertain. “These songs of hobbits, dwarfs and men and elves. Come, close your eyes” (Origianl song by Blind Guardian 1992)

Muscle Memory by Lights (Singer/Songwriter): Lily is very family oriented. She lived with her entire family and worked with them her whole life, until very recently. It's impossible she doesn't imagine them around her, at times of quiet. “I see you when I reach...”

Tragedy+Time by Rise Against (Punk): Hope. That is what Lily inspires in others, as best she can. She wants everyone to see the bright side of even the grimmest situations. She knows people have hard times, including herself. And it's a reminder to everyone, herself included, that the bad will happen, but the good will happen again, too. “Despite the overwhelming odds, tomorrow came.”

Welcome To Paradise by Green Day (Punk): It's the Kerplunk version, because Siv couldn't afford Dookie when it came out. I mean, this song sort of speaks for itself. It's first on the list because it's about living in a place that is less than poor. Crime and back alley fights are common and the sick aren't being treated like they should be. “Pay attention to the cracked streets and the broken homes”

Night Song cover by Bayside (Acoustic): This song shows how Siv lived in less than stellar conditions and eventually grew to love the night, and spend most of his time in it. Let people look down on him for it, for better or worse it is where he is most comfortable. “Crave the chill, bathe in black.” (Original song by Say Anything, 2012)

Lifestyles Of the Rich and the Famous by Good Charlotte (PopPunk): The Rich didn't do anything to help Siv, his friends, or his family in their time of need. Siv also would totally be blasting this in his headphones as a teen. “I'd like to see them spend a week livin' life out on the street”

Go Alone by Hell or Highwater (Rock): This is about Siv trying to change his ways a bit. He is trying to find where and how he can be good. He has killed people for money, probably less. But he still sees some light in his future...”I've been searching for Heaven while running from Hell”

One Rainy Day by Godsmack (Rock/Americana-ish): This is about the people who made Siv feel alone, unwelcome and physically and mentally hurt him. He doesn't want to go back to that. The aesthetic of the song feels very lonely as well, looking out a window in to the night rain. “Never will you ever make me feel this way again”

Angel by Depeche Mode (Rock): Why, who is this lovely Beach Gnome that has entered Siv's life? Whoever she is, she is accepting, kind, beautiful, and helpful beyond words. A genuine sense of care, something Siv has rarely felt, left him smitten. “The angel of love was upon me/And Lord, I felt so weak/I felt my tongue move in my mouth/And I began to speak”

Control by Halsey (Pop): This song represents Siv's Bad Nights alone. It's written more retroactively, so it sounds more like Siv conveying his past, or thinking about it. Sometimes Siv makes decisions that don't seem good, this is opposed to how up front and honest he is in a general sense to the party he is in. The song also is a bit meta, referring to itself and other songs/poems written. “I'm well acquainted with villains that live in my head. They beg me to write them so they'll never die when I'm dead.”

Autumn by Haste the Day: Watching as the seasons change, and the planet goes from alive, to dying. Being swept away by time. The wind taking the beautiful leaves away from the beautiful trees. The life being taken away from people he's trusted and cared for. People he's killed that others have trusted and cared for. They all faded away. “Barren branches wave goodbye. As the red leaves slowly die”

I Can Make You Feel Young Again by Copeland (Alt-Indie): Lily opened up about her romantic past, a little bit. This song is poetic, and it shows a promise from Siv to not do what the other people have done to Lily. “A billion stars and here we are, same bit of dirt holding our weight.”

Bodies by Drowning Pool (metal): UGGO CRUSH!!!! This song is first because it is the earliest form of Uggo. The most Orc.

Family Tradition cover by Forever Starts Today (post hardcore): Taken literally, this song is about alcoholism. But, that alcoholism is treated as something that was inherited. A bad part of a terrible father figure that was past down. This song represents Uggo trying to be more human. He is not happy with who he is. Replace 'addiction' with any primal quality of an Orc, basically. “Here is my own family tradition, following footsteps in to addiction.” (Original song by: Senses Fail, 2008)

War by Linkin Park (Punk/Hardcore): This is sort of another example of Uggos primal rage, but mixed in with his warnings about what is coming. What he is trying to warn everyone about! It's coming, and it won't be good! “It will not cease, only grow/You better be prepared to fight”

Destroy the Orcs by Three Inches of Blood (80's inspired metal): UGGO SSMASH ORCS COMING TO WAR! “Kill the orcs, slay the orcs, destroy the orcs” (  This represents Uggo's Orc Ancestors.)

Rebellion cover by Van Canto (a capella metal): I had to have a Van Canto song on here. They have this real primal feel, and a capella really enhances that. Not to mention this song is about rebelling against your oppressors. So it works as both a song of war, and a song of Uggo rejecting certain parts of himself. (Original Artist: Grave Digger, 1996)

Renacer by Senses Fail (metalcore/hardcore: Did I technically put two Senses Fail songs in here? I mean yeah, but ones a cover. This track is hard and heavy and is about, as the title suggests, rebirth. Lyrically it is about finding yourself and trying to change your habits to be better. Letting go of the past. Theres also a switch partway through the song that makes it feel like its a different song altogether, symbolizing the difference from the beginning and the end. Theres also a bit that can be taken quite literally for Uggo. This represents the ancestor who is both orc and man.“Young hearts, old souls”

Animal I Have Become by Three Days Grace (Hard Rock): this represents Uggo's rage. Specifically, when he rages in front of his new family, and might go too far. Uggo doesn't think his raging is one hundred percent bad, but he also recognizes that he lacks a level of control that is required for him to reach the balance he is after. “Somebody get me through this nightmare/I can’t control myself ”

Ungrateful by Escape the Fate [Explicit] (Metalcore): This is about the cycle of abuse, really. Uggo tries to control himself, but he still instinctively is untrustworthy, and goes to violence very quickly. But, this song is also him fighting back against that. “With bleeding hands I fight with the pride left in me now”  

Beautiful Freak by One-Eyed Doll (grungy/rock): This track is about liking the ones who stand out, when the ones who stand out aren't loved by others. In Fahima's case, this is true for humans and other sentient races of Ain, and to the other living creatures. From Bugbears, to giant centipedes! This song is the first song because it's a part of who Fahima is.

I Am The Fire by Halestorm (modern hard rock): This song is about bolstering yourself high up. Being your own strength. This song is second because it is who Fahima is when we are introduced to her, we don't see her become this. “I promise to myself, me and no one else: I am more than this.” Also the fire part, duh.

we fell in love in october by girl in red (indie): Fahima has talked about having feelings she can't describe for someone in the past, and this song is here to represent that. Fahima wouldn't call it love herself, but it's because she didn't know. “You look so pretty and I love this view.” This is placed here because it is still before she met her current group.

Crazy cover by Digital Daggers (idk chill cover?: This represents Fahima's denial about who she is. She wouldn't call what she felt during 'we fell in love in october' love, because she wouldn't allow herself to. The idea is “crazy”, so she doesn't even allow it to be real. “Crazy. I'm crazy for feeling so lonely.” (Original: Patsy Cline, 1961)

Barracuda by Heart (80's Rock): I had to get a Heart song on here. Taken literally, the lyrics are pretty specific to Ann Wilson and who she is talking about. But, overall, the song is about going against those who try and tell you what to do. Specifically, it is about not accepting being talked down to by men as a woman. Ann was condescended to by a music producer, so she wrote this song. Fahima, early on, previewed people trying to help her as condescending. This is in this spot to represent those times Fahima rejected help to try and prove she did not need it. She is more accepting of it now, knowing that her group has faith in her strengths and she is more willing to accept help for her weaknesses.

Crush by Tessa Violet (Pop): This represents her realizing she has feelings for someone. The lyrics feel like they are from a sort of naive side. A side that has this ideal relationship in their head. The potential pit falls don't matter, right now she just wants to be someone's “crush”. “I can't focus on what needs to get done/I'm on notice hoping that you don't run “

Coming Clean by Green Day (Punk): While 'Crush' represents Fahima's naivety, and real basic need to feel connection with someone, romantically (again, even before she might realize, or want to admit, that's what the feeling is), Coming Clean serves as a transition period. It has a double meaning, Fahima is both coming clean with herself, and coming clean to Lily, who is encouraging her. She's admitting to herself, and Lily, that not only does she have romantic feelings for someone, she has romantic feelings for someone of the same sex, and connecting these dots to her past experience ('we fell in love in october'/'Crazy'). “17 and coming clean for the first time. I finally figured out myself for the first time.”'

Boogeyman by Black Casino and the Ghost (alt/indie): OK, these last three, and the next one, are sort of all around the same time, but it was a big thing for Fahima. Where 'Crush' is more naive, and 'Coming Clean' is figuring out what she wants, 'Boogeyman' is a bit more intense, and serious. Well, the song itself is fun. But, what I mean is, this song seems to be about the world chasing after the “Boogeyman”, while the singer (Fahima being the surrogate) is not afraid, and has an attraction. There's an excitement when the Boogeyman is scratching on the windows. This is obviously about Fahima's recent romantic interest, but it's also just how she views all creatures. “El chupacabra no va comer nos” (literally “the goat sucker won't eat us”).
