“Oh most days? Yeah, and it probably runs better too.”

“Isn’t that the fucking truth.”

“Good, so you get how things work around here then.” He crossed his arms down at her. “He doesn’t want to be with you! He’s fucking with your head! Do you not know who the jocks are? How I had to pick you up that one morning and you were sick to your fucking stomach, how his friend denied you? They are always going to deny us, Don! They denied me and I was one of them, for fucksakes!” He was screaming now, probably too loud. Louder than he ever had. How did he tell her he was busy trying to still deal with Kai a year later? With Ace? With Alex leaving? He was letting Donovan down and Alaska down. The only two people he had left.

“Fuck you.” Donovan didn’t care that she was being yelled at. When wasn’t she being yelled at? No, she cared that he was the one doing the yelling. That he was that angry at her--the angriest Donovan thinks she’s ever seen Raf. Especially at her. But she was angry right back. She was angry that he was supposed to be there for her and never was. She was angry that he was clearly fucking hurting too but wouldn’t talk to her. Wouldn’t let on. Just disappear until her only fucking option is to wind up in the arms of a jock, because at least he fucking paid attention to her. It was more she could say for him. “You talk a big fucking game about how all of this high school bullshit is just that. Bullshit. But you buy into it just as much as the rest of them.” Donovan scoffed, shaking her head. “...you’re really going to be pissed at me for this. You’re really going to fucking stand there and yell at me over something so fucking stupid!” Donovan shoved angrily at his chest.

Sebastian had got into the habit of smoking back in New York, he’d wanted to quit but it seemed part of his daily routine now and he couldn’t help it. He’d just had a meeting with his boys about how they were missing about $1000 of the money they’d made last week. It was fair to say he’d gotten a bit mad, so someone in there had both a broken nose and a black eye. It would be a problem if his employee’s didn’t fear him. He hadn’t expected someone to sneak up on him, making him jump. “Shit!” He dropped his cigarette, noticing who it was. “Well thanks for that, guess I didn’t need it anyway.”

"Smoking kills.” Donovan informed, ironically, as she reached into her own back pocket and pulled out a pack.

“Don’t fucking switch this onto me attacking you. I told you I didn’t want him around the fucking house. You told me you weren’t seeing him. You fucking betrayed me. You fucking lied to me.”

“Because you are attacking me! I am so sick of you acting like you’re allowed to tell me what to do, Rafael, because you’re such a goddamn hypocrite. You’re allowed to fuck around with whoever you want, but when I actually want to be with someone, it’s me betraying you. That’s fucking rich. It’s hard to lie to you when you’re not fucking around to talk to in the first place.”

“When you made your point clear that we’re not friends.” The bus stopped and she saw that they were near her stop. “Bye, Donovan.”

Donovan furrowed her eyebrows as Holly left. “What the fuck.” Had she actually pushed someone too far?

“It’s none taken at this point, Dono. I’ve been trying to clean the mom van out atleast twice a week, but the little rugrats still manage to dirty the fuck out of the back with their cheetos and whatever else they get their grubby little hands on.”

“So what I’m hearing is that this bus is still cleaner than your van.”

“Personal stuff.”

“When has that ever stopped you from blabbing about it to me?”

“You know it was more places than just the closet.“ He teased looking down at her, thinking she was joking he let out a laugh. “Yeah sure it is.“

“Was being the word. As in, not anymore.” Donovan shook her head in disgust, knowing he thought she was joking. Why wouldn’t he? She’d said all of this before. But this was one thing she hadn’t: “I’m with someone.”

“Very original. And so funny.”

“I can tell by your laughter.”

Another shrug. “Perhaps, yeah.”

“Perhaps?” What the fuck. “Vague much?”

“Rough day.”

“More than just car troubles?”

“Hey, don’t be rude. I’m letting you come with me.”

“Like you have a choice.”

Shrugging, she turn to a new page and continued reading. “Oh well.”

“What’s up your ass?”

“I feel like I’ve been in my house for the past year planning this wedding. Honestly, someone should have warned me how crazy this gets.”

“I didn’t know you were pregnant.”

“Do you have a fake ID?”

“Do you have a fake ID? Get your head out of your ass. I’ve been sneaking out and going to parties a lot longer than you.”

Alec groaned not liking the sound of ‘we need to talk’ but still he moved toward the blonde. Anytime anyone said that it was always bad new or just something to freak him out. “About?.“

Donovan’s arms crossed over her chest. “About the weather.” Her eyes rolled. “What do you think, dipshit? About what goes on in this fucking closet.” And at his house. And at hers. Her head shook. “Look. It’s done. Us fooling around.”
