Baby Boy of the genre-smashing Bay Area hip-hop collective AG Club drops his first-ever solo project, BUCK*. Out now on Epic Records, the new release is an open-hearted trip through soulful, shifting soundscapes and subtly radical personal revelations — eight gorgeous songs underpinned by a romanticism for life’s highs and also the lessons of the lows.

BUCK* is a vibrant, handcrafted mix of R&B, rap, pop, and rock that pairs Baby Boy with a core set of close-knit collaborators and multi-instrumentalists. Working primarily with producers Mikey Mu, jerod, and AG Club stalwart Saint Patrick, Baby Boy sounds like he’s leading a band from within a bedroom studio, with occasional pop-ins from fellow sonic travelers like Dilip (Skrillex, JackBoys), berg (SAILORR, ian), Hamish (Smino, Miguel), Isaac Rose, and others.

The previously unheard “SUM1ELSE.mp3” is an immediate standout, painting a vivid picture of a couple at a crossroads over a track that moves between wistful dreamscapes and a bouncing chorus that plays like a brokenhearted B-side from a lost Y2K pop&B album. Baby Boy is unabashedly vulnerable, expressing his devotion as a counterpoint to his partner’s wandering eye: “I think I’m tongue tied, I’m just thinking ’bout you tonight, alright?” he begins. “Your hands tied around me, you used to ride beside me / Now you’re here thinking ’bout someone else.”

Baby Boy shared a note to accompany his new project:

“BUCK* is love wrapped up in the reality of my life. No pretending. No games. These songs are the sonic embodiment of all the love and all the loss I’ve experienced. I’ve been making music since 2017, and this is the first time I’ve actually explored doing this on my own. I know these songs sound different from our older records, but I love them. And if you love them, then I love you. If you don’t, I still love you.

“There have been so many moments in my life where, if I had just been open and honest about the way I felt, a lot of people — including myself — would’ve been spared a lot of pain. My antlers grew too big. I spent so much time defending myself that I forgot how to let people in. This album is me shaking them off. Starting fresh. If you want to know me — Jah, or Baby Boy — just know I’m in there.”

The “AVOIDANCE” music video — directed by Baby Boy and longtime AG Club collaborator Manny Madrigal — brings those themes to life. The guitar-driven song finds the artist freely releasing the kinds of feelings he struggles to share with others in real life. The visual plays on this, initially depicting Baby Boy as the only live wire in a house full of listless family members. After a pivotal moment, their roles switch, and he’s dazed while others smile and dance. While much is open to interpretation, their individual moments of expression all take place in isolation.

Thankfully, BUCK* is meant to be shared. Released just last week, lead single “ST CHARLES” — a musically joyous tribute to the bittersweet beauty of growing up — has already earned love from the likes of Pigeons & Planes (“8 New Songs to Listen to This Week”) and okayplayer., who wrote, “the melodic single blends reflective lyricism with an infectious hook, continuing the genre-blurring creative approach that has become synonymous with the Bay Area collective.”

That song captures something integral to BUCK*. Like “ST CHARLES,” the album writ large is both deeply introspective and warmly welcoming, and beatifically explores the dualities of making one’s way through the world while always maintaining momentum — and also a stubborn optimism reflected in the sound, which is highly dynamic but beautifully cohesive.

Baby Boy’s new project follows AG Club’s summer 2025 single “Again,” which found them raising a toast to the good life over a breezy track that also featured in the “New Balance 1000 for JD Sports” campaign. Before that came the group’s beloved 2024 mixtape BRODIE WORLD, a whimsical and electric body of work praised by Stereogum for its “day-glo, reckless, youthful charm” and dubbed a “tremendous experiment in having fun” by Alternative Press.

JYT (Just Your Type) continue their breakout year with the release of their new single, "First Time." Produced by Nova Wav (Beyonce, Rihanna), Freddy Wexler (Justin Bieber, BLACKPINK), PARISI (Fred Again), Max Margolis (Disclosure, Freya Skye), and Donny Bravo (Benny Blanco, Neyo), the song was written by JYT alongside the production team and Candice Sosa (BTS) The track pairs sleek pop production with funk-driven basslines and subtle disco influences, resulting in a sound that feels both instantly accessible and entirely new.

Singer-songwriter Solon Holt releases his debut album Songs About You via Trenches Records/Republic Records.

Produced alongside GRAMMY® Award-nominated Anderson East, Songs About You traces a musical journey inspired by various relationships that have come and gone. “Mellow” is a standout track on the album that finds Solon celebrating a lover’s mellowing affect on him through the song’s driving distorted bassline and celestial synths.   Songs About You marks the first release under Trenches Records, which is The Trenches’ new label division within the REPUBLIC Collective system. GRAMMY-nominated trio FLO release their highly anticipated sophomore album titled Therapy At The Club via Republic Records. To celebrate, FLO have released the music video for “Cry Ugly.”   The album arrives with a new music video for “Cry Ugly.” Directed by Jake Nava (Beyoncé), Sienna Nava & Marlon Cang (Recently Deleted). Global Colombian stars Ryan Castro and Feid join forces once again for “Mentira,” their highly anticipated third official collaboration. The Medellín powerhouses return with an infectious track that pairs upbeat production with a vulnerable story about the uncertainty, mistrust and mixed signals that can complicate a relationship.

The artists first previewed “Mentira” this past weekend by surprising residents of Pedregal, the Medellín neighborhood where Ryan grew up, with an impromptu street performance that quickly became one of the most talked-about moments across social media. What began as an ordinary day in the community turned into a spontaneous celebration as Ryan and Feid appeared in the middle of the neighborhood to perform several of their biggest songs before introducing the unreleased collaboration for the first time.

With no large-scale stage or elaborate production, the artists created an intimate moment that brought them face-to-face with the community and connected the release directly to the city and culture that have shaped both of their careers. The music video also closes with a clue about the concept behind Ryan’s upcoming album, for which “Mentira” serves as the first single.

The track once again highlights the natural chemistry between Ryan and Feid, two artists whose previous collaborations have become defining records within Medellín’s global musical movement. While “Monastery” introduced their connection in 2021 and “Ritmo de Medallo” celebrated the sound and culture of their hometown in 2023, “Mentira” reveals a more upbeat yet vulnerable side of their collaborative chemistry.

The release arrives as Ryan prepares to bring his SENDÉ The Last Dance Tour across the United States and Canada this fall. The 16-date run begins September 6 in Atlantic City and will visit cities including Boston, Washington, D.C., Orlando, Tampa, San Antonio, San Jose, Denver and Las Vegas. “Mentira” will also form part of Feid’s upcoming album, El Club de las 19 Flores.

Fatt Smaxk, the Thomasville Heights rapper emerging as the breakout Atlanta artist of the year, has just shared his new single "THOMASVILLE DAYS" –– out now, alongside an accompanying music video. Named after the East Atlanta projects that raised him, “THOMASVILLE DAYS” finds Fatt Smaxk flowing over a sinister, bass-heavy beat in the melodic, punched-in cadence he’s built his name on. Boxheadand T5 produced the track, and Mahi directed the accompanying visual, which shows Smaxk counting bills and setting the tone for the neighborhoods that love him.

"THOMASVILLE DAYS" continues a run that started last October, when Fatt Smaxk released his breakthrough project Smaxk Season 2 and its instant standout "Butta B" (24M+ Streams), a tribute to a late friend that traveled from Atlanta out to the country towns, then South Carolina, then Alabama. The Kharkee-directed music video has passed 12M views and trended on YouTube. In May, Atlanta DJ Swamp Izzo and first-time collaborator Playboi Carti joined him on the "Smaxk or Die" Remix; Carti cut the verse unprompted and shot the video with him in Atlanta, his first guest appearance of 2026. Fatt Smaxk has since kept it moving with June’s "UP THE SCORE", entertaining appearances on Genius Verified where he broke down the lyrics of the aformentioned “Butta B” and 2 Chainz’s podcast with his son, Me & Halo, as well as drawing other co-signs from Lil Baby, Future, and Bunna B.

 Jutes releases his highly-anticipated album Chin Up, Beautiful, via Position Music. Alongside the album’s arrival, he also shares the cinematic video for its title track, “Chin Up, Beautiful,” directed by B.K. Barone.

About the album, Jutes shares, "The world feels really cooked right now and it's impossible to feel everything all at once, so we just go numb and fake smiles because we're helpless. That's how I was feeling when I made this. It pulls from elements of my music when I first started singing and incorporates them with everything I've learned about my voice and songwriting since then."

Preceded by singles "Disassociate," "Icarus," "Mannequin," "goodnight (interlude) <3," “White Butterflies,” and “Blink Twice,” the album is a futuristic, post-apocalyptic meditation on numbness, survival, and the quiet collapse of feeling in an overwhelming world.

That dystopian landscape has been taking shape across the album’s music videos, where recurring characters, imagery, and narrative threads reveal a larger story with each release. In the video for "Icarus," Jutes is chased on foot in a high-speed pursuit by figures in space-suit-like gear, ending at a cottage where he finally approaches their car and pulls back the suits to reveal they're mannequins—with "Mannequin," his next single, already playing on the car radio. Those same figures then become the central characters of the "Mannequin" music video, playing out a fractured, troubled relationship between what's implied to be a husband and wife as their home and the world around it collapses by the song's end. "Blink Twice" extends that same collapsing world, following its own pair of characters as they choose to stay together inside the wreckage rather than run from it.

The album arrives alongside the cinematic video for its closing track, “Chin Up, Beautiful.” About the single, Jutes says, “This one concludes the album. The simulation is at the end. The world has collapsed and it’s saying if you don’t like what you see then don’t look at it. Keep your chin up and don’t concern yourself with the pain and suffering around you. Don’t show how much it hurts because everything is fine.”

Jutes’ North American headline run, Smile You’re On Tour, kicks off on August 11 in Phoenix, AZ at The Van Buren. Following his North American tour, Jutes will make his Australian debut as an opener for Dayseeker, with their tour kicking off in February of 2027 continuing his global momentum. YTB Fatt has released his new EP VERA VOLPE: THE PRELUDE, out now via Loaf Boyz Ventures / 10K Projects. With features from Lil Baby, Loe Shimmy and Fox BD (who is also his twin brother), this EP assembles a cast of southern rap stars. On Vera Volpe: The Prelude, YTB Fatt makes visceral West Memphis street rap, pairing menacing Southern trap production with an elastic drawl, candid storytelling and punchlines that move between pain, menace and triumphant excess. The title translates from Italian as “true fox,” extending the iconography Fatt has carried since he named his crew for the wild foxes that run the back roads of Foxwood, the West Memphis neighborhood he came up in. The EP is the first project Fatt has put out under his own name since last summer’s DA FOXPRINT, and is a prelude to the Vera Volpe album that Fatt announced earlier this month.

VERA VOLPE: THE PRELUDE caps a stretch that has kept YTB Fatt on other rappers’ records as often as his own. A 2025 XXL Freshman, he opened 2026 in January on Dee Mula’s “Greedy N****s,” then joined Lil Yachty, G Herbo, G Youngin and BTY Beedo on the March remix of Rob49’s “Da Fuxk.” On April 2nd he posted “I’m Back” to Instagram and YouTube, answering false reports that he had been shot and killed in West Memphis the day before. He turned up on Montana 700’s “Foxx Flow” later that month and released “I Gotcha Bitch” with Fox BD on July 7th. Three days later, the pair joined Rob49 on “300 Blackout,” a third go-round for Fatt and Rob49 after 2023’s “Bet I Whip It” and last year’s “Yessirski.” Fox BD has been the constant through it: the two traded verses on “Hit The Curb” from DA FOXPRINT, and Fox BD pulled Fatt onto “Skoot Over Or Get Rolled Over” in December.

Nino Paid releases his highly anticipated sophomore album, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, available now via Signal/Columbia Records.
