Rising singer-songwriter Presley Haile is celebrating a new chapter with the release of her new EP Hamilton Honey: Part 1, via Columbia Records. Making the milestone even more meaningful, the project arrives on her mother’s birthday as a heartfelt gift in her honor.

“I’ve spent most of my life wandering from place to place, like a honeybee chasing the next bloom,” Presley says about the EP. “Somewhere along the way, I realized home wasn’t waiting for me at the end of the journey. It was in the river bends, triticale fields, golden cedar sunsets, bluebonnets, and barn swallow songs I’d been carrying with me all along.”

Heading into the weekend, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution recognized Rum Island Festival as one of the "10 weekend events hotter than the metro Atlanta weather," and by day's end, the festival proved exactly why it belonged on that list. Set against the backdrop of Piedmont Park, just steps away from the Atlanta Botanical Garden, thousands of attendees experienced an immersive celebration that showcased the richness, diversity, and global influence of Caribbean culture.

Host Pretty Vee officially welcomed festivalgoers to Rum Island Festival's inaugural Atlanta celebration in true Pretty Vee fashion, setting the tone with her signature charisma while speaking to the spirit of togetherness and the importance of creating a space where Caribbean culture and community could be celebrated as one. Her infectious energy quickly spread throughout Piedmont Park as she broke into an electrifying dance performance before leaving the stage to join the crowd, dancing alongside festivalgoers and turning the opening moments into a true celebration shared with the people.

Keeping the momentum alive from the opening moments through the final performance were Ricky Platinum, Boogy Rankss, DJ Kalidean, and additional selectors, who curated the soundtrack throughout the day with an infectious mix of dancehall, soca, reggae, afrobeats, and Caribbean classics, ensuring the energy never let up between artist sets.

The live performances began with Global Soca icon Denise "Saucy Wow" Belfon, who reminded audiences why she remains one of Carnival's most celebrated entertainers. Riding renewed international attention following Drake's sample of her legendary 1998 Soca anthem "Work (Put Yuh Back In It)," Belfon had the audience waving flags, singing every lyric, and embracing the spirit of Carnival as she performed crowd favorites including "Work (Put Yuh Back In It)," "Wine and Bend Over," "Wining Queen," and more.

Fresh off the release of his acclaimed 16-track mixtape JamPack and newly named Billboard's Caribbean Up-and-Comer of the Month, Ayetian continued the momentum with an explosive set that introduced many Atlanta festivalgoers to his signature blend of dancehall, hip-hop, and Caribbean sounds. The Jamaican-Haitian star performed fan favorites including "Wha Yo Deh Pon," "Tip," "Balance," and more, bringing infectious energy and undeniable stage presence to the Rum Island crowd.

Festivalgoers also got their first taste of Rum Island's Rum Punch, the festival's signature cocktail that had already generated buzz following its debut on ATL Live just weeks earlier. Following her recent releases “BAD” and “SORRY I’M OBSESSED WITH YOU,” “WHAT ELSE?” continues Cutler’s fearless new era and gives fans another taste of her forthcoming project.

Chelsea recently opened up about the single and her soon-to-be-announced album with a vulnerable note on her Instagram, sharing, “the last two years have been the two most interesting, fulfilling, challenging, fun, beautiful years of my life. when i started writing this record, it felt like i was living through the end of my life as i knew it. nothing about me or my life looked the same or felt the same. the truth is that in the last two years, i’ve felt less like myself than ever and also more like myself than i probably ever have before. i got out of a longterm relationship and went off all of my medications and took real time away from touring and spent a lot of time alone with myself for the first time in my twenties and also spent a lot of sustained time at home with my loved ones for the first time in my twenties. i started taking a more proactive approach to my mental/physical health, tried lots of new things, got diagnosed with OCD, dated as an adult for the first time, said yes every chance i could, moved across the country for a bit to finish the record in california and then fell even more in love with new york from 3000 miles away.”   She continues, “the last two years have been about navigating a season of life where i didn’t feel sure about anything at all. who i was, what i wanted, what my life and career would look like. call me cliche, but i think your late twenties are for deconstructing everything and rebuilding it all with more wisdom, patience, strength, and intention. if i have learned anything, it is that it’s never really the end. it’s just the start of the rest of your life.”   Built around shimmering production and an intimate late-night atmosphere, “WHAT ELSE?” captures the electricity of undeniable attraction, transforming quiet moments into a euphoric pop anthem that feels both deeply personal and effortlessly addictive. As the chorus unfolds, Cutler sings, “Said you like my clothes on the floor of your bedroom, girl what else / And you like the things I do when I get you all to myself / And I like when you tell me things you don’t tell nobody else.”   The release builds on the momentum of Chelsea’s latest singles, which have found her embracing a renewed creative freedom after taking time away to reconnect with herself and rediscover the joy of making music. North Philly rapper/producer slayr has already established himself as a vital voice in modern music, blending trap, EDM & metal to create a vibrant, maximalist sound that some have dubbed “colorful rage.” In a music landscape so often obsessed with artifice and posturing, slayr’s commitment to a no-frills appearance is unique & refreshing, but his addicting melodic vocals are anything but ordinary. 

On the heels of a breakout performance at Summer Smash and being named a 2026 XXL Freshman, fast-rising Philly rapper/producer slayr is back with a new EP entitled Avant Nova. It’s the latest chapter in his mythology-themed discography and a taste of what’s to come on his next mixtape Fabula Nova. Visual artist HunniGarden, who designed the cover for slayr’s breakout mixtape Half-Blood, hand-drew the EP cover, as well as individual cover arts for each song, paying homage to the Final Fantasy saga. 

Avant Nova begins with two standout collaborations, with Chicago-based electronic sensation underscores and rising Charlotte rapper/producer prettifun, respectively. underscores co-produced opening track “promise,” which the two recently performed together at her sold-out Chicago show, and prettifun lent a guest verse to track 2, “switch my swag.” It’s the first song to feature verses from both slayr & prettifun but not their first time working together; prettifun previously produced “Racks” for slayr as well as the beat for his Lunch Break Freestyle on Lyrical Lemonade. 

Avant Nova comes shortly after slayr announced his first-ever headline tour, in support of Half-Blood and the expanded edition Bloodluxe. The Half-Blood Tour will kick off July 30 in Seattle and includes 24 stops across the US and Canada, as well as CLOUT Festival in Poland, Openair Frauenfeld in Switzerland and Counterfeit Fest in the UK. Within days of announcing the tour, he sold out the 1200-capacity Irving Plaza in New York, prompting him to add a second NYC date for September 3. 

The Avant Nova release, the headline tour and the XXL Freshman nod add to what has already been a banner year for slayr. After releasing BloodLuxe in March, he was named SoundCloud’s Ascending Artist of April, shared new music videos directed by Lyrical Lemonade’s Reduciano (“Eyesight”) and MONTREALITY (“Self Titled”), and featured on Tiffany Day’s “CONSTANTLY,” a hotly anticipated collaboration that’s picked up 2M+ streams in just two weeks.

Jamaican poet and singer-songwriter D'Yani has announced his highly anticipated forthcoming album Live Life & Prosper out August 21 and is enticing fans with what's to come from the 12-track album as he releases his latest video single “Miss You Bad,”.

A follow-up to “Journey,” the uplifting single released in June alongside a live acoustic choir session that premiered exclusively on the GRAMMY Global Spin platform, “Miss You Bad” reveals a more vulnerable and romantic side of D'Yani. 

The sultry, soul-soaked record pairs rich live instrumentation with his intoxicatingly raspy vocals as he explores the ache of longing and the emotional pull of unresolved love. Rooted in lovers rock while drawing from reggae, soul, and subtle R&B influences, the song captures the quiet tension of missing someone who still holds your heart, even when you know they're not meant for you. When asked about the single D’Yani says: 

“My intention for the song was to capture the emotional pain of missing someone so deeply that their absence feels like withdrawal from an addictive substance. Through its repeated references to being “hooked,” craving a “high,” and “relapsing,” it portrays an unhealthy attachment where love becomes a dependency rather than a source of comfort. Despite knowing the attachment is unhealthy, there is an overwhelming desire to return, making the emotions feel both heartbreaking and relatable. Overall, I try to paint a powerful picture of love, obsession, vulnerability, and the struggle between wanting to let go and being unable to break free from an emotional bond.”

R&B artist Jaz Karis releases her new EP, Twenty Something, via MNRK Music Group. Arriving on her birthday, the six-track project marks a full-circle moment for the artist, returning to the soulful, emotionally honest sound that first introduced her to audiences worldwide. In true form, Jaz linked back up with Aston Rudi, the producer behind her fan-favorite "Petty Lover," to craft a track that is equal parts cheeky and cathartic.

Going back to my petty ways, I linked up with the producer of 'Petty Lover' (Aston Rudi), and we had a great old chinwag which eventually led to us creating this song.
