But as the years droaned on Jade had to work more and more. The world just seemed always on the brink of total chaos. She’d be gone for days, even weeks at a time before she got to come back home to Nilesy. But every time he welcomed her with open arms and a smile. After a long week of ordering demons around and keeping them from killing each other she finally had some time to breathe. And she knew just where she wanted to go. Home. She let her horns and tail melt away, shrinking down to change back into her human body. She approached the lavish home, admiring the wonderful architecture as she pushed the front door open. “Nilesy! I’m home~!” She called, her heart racing as she imagined how happy he would be to see her.

“Good morning world….and all who inhabit it…” he yawns and turns his head to Jade, “Jade what happened where am I?” 

He gets up and places a soft kiss onto Jade’s forehead, “Glad to see you came back well.” 

“Two weeks at the most. But very close.” She stood up as well though it didn’t do her much good. He was so bloody tall. “I almost didn’t. I had a few close calls out there. Alistair was giving me a lot of grief.” She sighed and rubbed her face, she was very stressed out and it showed. She just needed some time with her Nilesy.

“Oh, you’re just in time for the cookies I made earlier. I made chocolate chip for real this time instead of oatmeal raisin,” Nilesy cheekily smiles, “I promise,” he places both of his hands up in joking defense. 

Holding Jade’s hand, he leads him into the kitchen to show the plate of newly baked cookies on the counter, “I would say wait until it cools, but….well…You can handle the heat.”
