S: “Still, why bother at all? If you were…” Cutting ties. Burning this bridge. “...trying to get some distance. Wasn’t that counterproductive?” / Finally, Komaeda glanced over his shoulder. “Would you have wanted someone to check on you?”

M: “Mmm?” / Well. Shit. Now he had to say something. / “There’s something I’ve been meaning to ask,” Hajime started, because it was true, there was something he’d been meaning to ask Komaeda. No time like the present to broach the subject. 

I: In the end, Tsumiki had convinced Hajime to do the procedure immediately, anyway. Between likely poor recovery outcomes and near certain sepsis, they’d chosen the lesser of two evils.

L: Later than he should have, Hajime registered that this was a conversation they were having, right now. A real one.

E: Even if Hajime still would have liked to see him put on a few pounds, he couldn’t deny what was in his hands now: Komaeda had ass.
