— A few days had passed since the incident of kidnapping and tortured that happened to Aria, the cuts and bruises still remains as she was still unconscious from the beating she received. It was a miracle she survived those assault from her kidnapper. But even if she makes it, these scars will remain forever in her core. 

The shadows of the beating were on Aria's skin and on her heart. She look as beat up as she did in her early days of training and sparring as a cadet. This was yet another horrible experience from the distant memory she was trying to forget in her childhood. Memory that made her grasp the option of being a Soldier just to Survive.

A few hours later, she woke up and was in quite a lot of pain and her ribs keeps feeling sore and swelling up. The pain throbs in her guts, it's deep and warm, but not in a nice way. It feels like someone has their hand in there and are squeezing her organs either gently or as hard as they can.

When it wanes, she can move. When it returns, she can only hold still and breathe, breathe slow and deep until it had passed. There is no visible blood anywhere but her abdomen is purple and lumpy where it should be smooth. Her attackers made sure that she will never wakes up the next day. But fate seems too kind to her for a bit in breathing in another life it had given.

She move ever so slowly and noticed that someone is beside her. A raven-haired man that she never expected to see when she woke up. Her gaze studied her surroundings, a familiar surroundings from her distant memory again. Underground district. To where Levi had kept her during that time when her family was massacred.

She wanted to weep. To release all the pent up emotion she was keeping to herself from the deepest part of her core. She badly wanted to cry because she remained too strong for so long. But it seems that even tears failed to form in the corner of her eyes. In her recovering strength, she speaks weakly and in nearly a whisper.

She gave a happy noise as she sipped her coffee. This place made the best coffee in town in her opinion. Her colleagues had all started coming here after she had first recommended it, now officers could be seen stopping in every so often. A few gave Lilly a wave. “Eh it’s been a slow month, but then again that’s a good thing.” She laughed. “I’m helping out with this year’s Pride float though.” She grinned. “How about you?”

— Aria hummed in response while sipping her cup of iced cappuccino. With her question, she was jumbling on what part she would tell her. About the fact that she actually called her for something else, or just tell Lilly about how her life went after a month of non-stop gig and interviews here and there. Sighing, she just shrugged the idea of the former.

— H O L D I N G H A N D S. One of Aria’s favorite thing when she’s with a dear friend while they are doing just absolutely nothing or just to pass time during Aria’s day off as a singer. Part of becoming a singer means that your life is no longer just your own. She have to spend enormous amount of time responding to her fans, to the point where her life will be dictated by the schedule book. Unfortunately, some people do end up burning their lives out, only to leave behind a vast litany of works to be remembered by. 

But to Aria, Lilly is her scapegoat despite her busy schedule. She’s glad that she’s there, by her side, to keep her company. She held her hands ever so tightly and pulled her to a nearby coffee shop, to have a time for themselves. To talk about anything and everything under the sun.

“Lilly, it’s been a while, has it not? How are you and your sister?”

It didn’t really take a genius to figure out that the Lieutenant in front of him was already hit with the alcohol. He had to stop so he wouldn’t be in such state or else who would look out or take care of her in this state? He sighed and would quietly prepare water and pour it in her empty glass to somewhat trick her to rehydrate.

“ Well, reality is. You need to sleep or rest because you are slurring your words. And you need to walk back to your room.”

“NO! Give me more!” Aria protested while getting the scotch back to Levi, chugging down straightly again. The roughness of the malted beer made her throat burned as the spirit of the alcohol is slowly taking over her senses. A tingling sensation ran all over her body as the tip of her fingers became slightly numb.
