headcanons for a kirishima and bakugou poly relationship?
haha iâve been thinking about this since someone asked about poly stuff a couple days ago. I personally enjoy the idea of Kirishima x reader x Bakugou stuff because itâs justâŚa good sandwich with good bois
It all started as a bit of a tug-of-war between the two when Bakugou and Kirishima realized they both had crushes on you. They respected each other too much to just give up and let the other win, so it turned into a bit of a competition
Bakugou would try and win your attention through very Bakugou-like means: not being as snarky towards you compared to everyone else, occasionally making you a packed lunch or snack but not make a big deal out of it (he wonât admit he enjoys cooking), getting jealous and protective when other people were around you even though you werenât even datingâŚyou get the idea
Kirishima went in on a more traditional route. Heâd start up easy conversations with you, always complimented you during training exercises, always carried extra pencils and a notebook in case you forgot yours, the occasional hand on your shoulder to let you know he was close by without feeling overbearing, etc.Â
The problem wasâŚyou like both of them and had no idea who to choose. All three of you were friends and you knew picking one would just disappoint the other and leave them an awkward third wheel
While you spent time struggling over a decision you didnât want to make, Kirishima and Bakugou - through their competitive spirit - started secretly strategizing together, eventually just talking about your good qualities and what they likedâŚuntil Kirishima let slip that honestly he didnât want you to pick either of them and leave the other in the dust and wouldnât mind if you all just sort ofâŚdated each other?
Of course Bakugou was taken aback since heâd basically just confessed he wouldnât mind if he dated Bakugou AND yourself at the same time. Honestly though, the more he thought about it, Bakugou thought that didnât sound so bad
As a result, they both brought the idea up to you: date them both. Before giving an answer you asked both of them whether or not jealousy might be an issue, like if you were to hang out with Kirishima one day would Bakugou feel left out?Â
âTch, Iâll just be a greedy shit and take you out the next day. Whatâs the problem?â was Bakugouâs answer to that
It took a while for everyone to get used to things but after a few weeks you all settled into a comfortable rhythm
You preferred to hang out with both of them at the same time. Kirishima didnât mind open affection like holding hands and kissing in public, though Bakugou was more reserved and would rather keep intimate displays out of the public eye (if you or Kirishima wanted to hold his hand, though, he didnât immediately pull away)
Bakugou will never openly admit it, but he honestly enjoys cuddling with both of you; it makes him feel safe and secure so heâll move you both over and sit in the middle 90% of the time. Maybe he also likes being the literal center of attention, as well
Bakugou will make you both lunch since heâs the best at cooking, while Kirishima doesnât mind taking you both out to dinner on an actual date. You and Bakugou silently agreed that having Kirishima spoil you wasnât all that bad
Everyone was protective of everyone else: if someone said something to you, Bakugou and Kiri would be on them in a heartbeat. If someone talked shit about Bakugou, you and Kiri would defend him. If anyone put down Kirishima, Bakugou would literally blow them up before you got the chance
If anything dangerous happened - like a villain attack or a dangerous mission - everyone reassured the others in their own way that they were alright and would help each other with bandaging wounds. Youâd all pile into one bed (when Bakugou was tired his shame and embarrassment flew right out the window) and just hold each other, glad that you all made it through another day of hero workÂ
