Ok curlies… Now I know I’m late on this recipe but you know I had to try it out once more to make sure the results weren't a fluke…and they’re not. Get supple, clean, ultra soft hair that you can’t keep your hands out of. Seriously!
Tools
1 Applicator Bottle
1 Small Funnel (optional and helpful)
Whisk, Personal Size Blender or Hand Mixer
Base
1/2 Cup of Coconut Milk
1/4 Cup of Aloe Vera Juice (or Purified Water)
1/4 Cup of Conditioner
4 Tbsp of Alma Powder
2 Tbsp of French Green Clay or Bentonite Clay
2 Tbsp of Marshmallow Root Powder
2 Tbsp of Kalpi Tone
Enhancer (10 drops each)
Peppermint Essential Oil
Basil Essential Oil
Rosemary Essential Oil
Mix It
Combine Base and Enhancer together in a blender to make a thick paste.
Pour the contents of your mix into a plastic zip-up bag.
With the bag sealed, push the mix to one size of the bag.
Cut the corner (cut a small piece!!) from the side of the bag that is free of the mix.
Place the open corner of the bag inside the applicator bottle and squeeze the mix into the bottle. Push the mix to release it from sides of the bag to make sure you get it all.
Note: You don’t have to do steps 2-5 (above). But I have found that application is a breeze when the mix is in an applicator bottle. And once done, you can simply place it in the fridge or freezer; thaw it out by placing the bottle in warm water, shake it up (once unfrozen) and it’s ready to be used once more (plus it’s slightly warm ~ BONUS).
Apply It
On WET or DAMP hair, part into small sections.
Use a dime or quarter size amount (depending on the size of section) and spread across your hair from scalp to ends.
TIP: Use a spray bottle if you need to re-wet your hair as you work through the sections. Also, if you have and applicator bottle application will go much faster.
When your hair us fully coated, apply a plastic cap (or 2) and allow the mud to sit on your hair for 30-60 minutes. You can also sit under the dryer for 30 minutes, but that's optional.
Hop in the shower and rinse hair. While you’re moving from section to section the water is working to detangle your strands. Make sure you re-twist the section once it’s completely rinsed to keep them separated.
With sections re-twisted, run water over your hair one more time to make sure it’s completely free and clear.
Why I love this recipe
I love this recipe because it cleans and conditions all at once. It’s usually customary to deep condition after your Ayurvedic treatments, but not with this recipe. The added conditioner allows the mix to go on smooth, but it also.. (( well )) conditions as it’s cleaning (which saves you time). Coconut milk also gives your hair the added boost of protein, which helps to strengthen weak strands, making it healthy and strong. Trust me, you will absolutely LOVE your hair when your done!

My protective style is making my hair shed.. what am I doing wrong? .:. Absolutely nothing!! On average your hair sheds about 100-150+ strands daily. You usually don’t notice because you’re constantly weeding them out. When your hair is in a protective style for a long period of time (like braids) you’re putting the BIG purge on delay. So when you take your hair down it may appear to be a massive amount of breakage, but in reality, it’s just your normal amount of shedding… saved over a few days, weeks, months.
Help, castor oil makes my scalp itch!! .:. Want the growth benefits of castor oil without the itch? Try mixing it with another carrier oil like Coconut, Jojoba or Grapeseed. You can even soothe scalp irritations by adding in a bit of peppermint, rosemary or tea tree oil. If irration persist, discontinue use of castor oil all together.
Eggs .:. Whipped eggs provide a great source of protein for limp lifeless hair. Just make sure you always and I mean always, rinse with cool water. Using warm or hot water could cook the eggs and you’ll have a hell of a time picking egg bits out of your hair. Trust me on this.

Sometimes in life... you just gotta cheat. If you don't have a ton a time to go through your normal hair pampering routine you can cheat, ever so slightly, with a little bit of shampoo.... any shampoo.

1 Applicator Bottle

2 oz of Shampoo
2 oz of Olive Oil
Aloe Vera Juice or Purified/ Distilled Water
 Mix It & Apply It
Combine all ingredients into a clean applicator bottle and give it a good shake.
Apply the diluted shampoo to your scalp and massage; removing build up like you normally would.
Thoroughly rinse and remove the shampoo. You could stop here but this is a great time to apply an ACV or Tea Rinse.
 So why dilute the shampoo
Shampoos are great cleaners, no.. they really are. They can strip your strands from build up and they can do it quickly. But this is where the benefits end. Build ups not the only thing to get stripped. Excessive use of shampoo can also strip your hair of it's natural oils; oils your scalp needs to stay hydrated. It's your natural oils (sebum) that protects and keeps the hair shaft soft and primed for new growth. By diluting shampoo with additional oil, you can protect your scalp and hair from being totally stripped. The shampoo will attack the added oil and the aloe helps to condition the locs and smooth the cuticles, leaving you with silky soft hair.
So enjoy naturals and celebrate your shortened wash day.
How long should I leave the conditioner in? .:. In general the conditioning effect is present for up to 25-30 minutes. After this time absorption of active ingredients has reach its maximum and there is no real added benefit to leaving a conditioner on the hair after 30 minutes.
