The Cosmic Marmalade

Sometimes sifting through my Soundcloud stream can be an exhausting venture. Absurd sounds attacking from all angles, over-glorified trap, epileptic juke beats, the deep-ocean-esque bass-lines of proper dub. Now and then I crave something simple, neat, and whimsical; something capable of lapping away the residues of all that is heavy and deep. There's just something about experimental electronic that kisses me on the forehead and makes everything feel right. Ricky Eat Acid delivers a pastel-coloured foaming bubble bath to the temporal lobes.

Kicking it since 1993, Mouse on Mars are certainly nothing new. Timeless? now that's a different story. Tried and true methods have worked for countless artists [the likes of Daft Punk and Boards of Canada]; work out a hyphy formula, achieve success, re-apply formula, more success, repeat.

What we are seeing here however, is EVOLUTION. Phresh, original beats to soak your grey-matter in. 

Sure as shit ain't new... Doesn't matter, still glorious!

Hailing from the Bay Area, San Fran, Thriftworks continuously liquefies my brain, pours it into test-tubes, adds a dash of hip-hop feel, gangster-as beats, ethereal rhythms, and unique instrumental interludes; slaps em into a centrifuge and away we go! 

From uplifting tracks of pure bliss, to earthy swamp tunes, to (what I theorize just might be) the audio translation of a slow descent to insanity.
