I chose this particular Ad from Men’s Warehouse because not only is Father’s Day coming up but I think that it does a great job at making a connection between how a man dresses and how that correlates with what kind of father and role model he is.  This commercial shows a humble, caring and responsible dad, who is respected by everyone.  The Ad suggests that good men and fathers dress well.  They wear suits and clothing from Men’s Warehouse.  This effective message that is sent though the heartwarming commercial is one that inspires the consumer to shop a Men’s Warehouse and to become a better Father.  What is also really great about this commercial is that it is relatable to nearly every family.  Even if the viewers family is not as “picture perfect” as the one shown, it is still idolized and inspiring.

This commercial is one of seven in HBO’s “stop awkward family viewing” campaign for there HBO GO service.  This advertisement for their on the go, instant access television, ties into the awkwardness that nearly everyone with a television in their home can relate to.  We’ve all experienced viewing a less than appropriate scene from a movie or TV show with one of our parents in the room.     The is Ad draws on this connection in several different scenarios.  This particular commercial reminds the audience of their own awkward moments in similar situations while providing a very powerful emotional connection.
