rules. very simple, basic rp etiquette applies. no god modding or meta gaming outside what has been discussed or reasonable. be aware of the graphic nature of the source material, but i will do my best to tag accordingly. all content on this blog is either made by me or will be properly credited to the original creators. i will not follow blog that actively use noah schnapp or brett gelman faceclaims. i will follow and interact with will byers accounts that use other resources for their portrayal.

blog canon. i have never seen the stranger things play or read any of the books, so none of that will be canon to my portrayal of bob. my bob newby is an only child who hails from derry, maine and moved to hawkins, indiana in his early middle school years. naturally, post s2 verse interactions will feature some heavy canon divergence. bob does not forget the gun or die in hawkins lab. i am also unlikely to follow or interact henry/vecna blogs. nothing personal, and never say never, but honestly the way i envision the upside down and the mystery of it does not include him and the route they decided to go with it in s4/s5.

i'm open to plotting, but some of my defaults post s2 verses are below. whether bob and joyce's relationship survives s2 as well is interaction dependent, even in my s3 verse where bob and joyce move to derry with the boys and jane:

this could be the year for the real thing. set during s2. bob and joyce are dating, and he's making real efforts to connect with the byers boys. this verse will encompass any point within s2, pre or post bob's exposure to the upside down.

i've looked at life from both sides now. post s2. bob wrestles with the trauma he experienced at hawkins lab and his fractured understanding of the world around him. he has nightmares... flashbacks, of running through the halls of the lab and hearing the dogs behind him, but never seeing them over his shoulder when he turns to look, or being lost in the tunnels and hearing joyce and will scream from above the dirt. with radio shack going out of business, he's taken up teaching science and computer literacy at hawkins high, and spends some evenings homeschooling jane at the cabin.

sail away with me to another world. following the events of s3, bob, the byers, and jane look for a fresh start and move to his hometown of derry, maine. bob teaches science and computer literacy at derry high. jane transitions into public school, but bob still tutors her in the evenings.

clouds illusions i recall. s5 verse. bob helped with the design of the telemetry tracker, and because of that it's a much more sophisticated system than what we see in the show. he also designs remote devices that get left in the upside down that any monitor activity that may be indicative of vecna's whereabouts. he accompanies jim into the upside down on the crawls to perform routine maintenance on these devices.

interactions. i'm open to a lot. for joyce blogs, i do not have to default to a romantic dynamic between joyce and bob if you prefer otherwise, we can definitely plot something different, just let me know. i'm also open to shipping with other muses if the chemistry is there. sexually explicit threads are unlikely on this blog. my formatting is subject to change on my mood and i may or may not use icons.
