Cali Friends! You can literally get your hands on these paintings tonight, 6-9pm at Cantor Fine Art Gallery,  Pacific Design Center; 8687 Melrose Avenue, West Hollywood in a tactile art show aptly titled PLEASE TOUCH THE ART.

This show is showcasing several different types of tactile art: all meant to be touched. The gallery’s documentary is also premiering, so if you’re in the area and feeling like touching some art, this is the time to do it. If you can’t make it tonight, fear not: the show will stay up throughout the end of August. 

Our little show at Likely General has been extended — people really like to touch paintings! It will be on until Friday, September 11, so there’s still some time.

We’ve been asked to show our paintings at this year’s National Braille Conference, and the best part is that we’re involved in the Youth Activities program. So we'll be making braille Halloween crafts to inspire kids to create their own masterpieces and have fun with braille. If you have an idea of something you’d like us to make, let us know!

We didn’t even tell you that we’re in Poetry Is Dead Magazine, Issue 11: Youth Culture! Whaaaaaaaat? Not only are we hiding inside, but we made two different commissioned brailled postcards that you can order: one with a black and white detail from a brand-spanking-new painting, the other on a pristine white with tricky printed shadows.

Braille Easter eggs! 

We just posted THREE new paintings over on our website (you can follow us there, too!). We used a variety of materials on these ones, including string, crackle paint, plaster and acrylic.  That skinny bright pink one looks small in this picture, but in real life it’s actually eight feet long. It sure is dificult to take pictures of giant paintings without sacrificing pretty much all the detail. It’s imperative to enlarge this one, even just a little bit.

Big news for The Braille Project: We've just confirmed a commission with the wonderful Virginia-based interior design firm Carlyn & Company to produce a large-scale braille-painting for public display in the Mosaic District in Fairfax, VA! Planning is already underway and the finished piece should be hanging by mid-March!
