joneshead:
Jughead had never experienced privilege in any capacity before ( aside from the fact that he was a white male living in America, of course ), but if this could be defined as such, he certainly had the upper hand. His name alone afforded him a familial support that Betty had yet to receive, a place within the Serpents that secured them to him, and vice versa. He didn’t like riding on his dad’s name, but then again, he had no reason not to accept their offer to him.
He’d always been stoic, tough to read to most people, and he preferred remaining that way. His deeper, more complex feelings about his father and his family were personal, and even Archie had remained in the dark about a lot of that part of his life. Until, of course, the boy had forced his way in. Jughead returned her words with a half shrug – he’d known what she meant.
But then, a smile threatened the corners of his mouth, and he just barely managed to keep it in check. He leaned forward, arms pressed against the table. The amusement that sparked inside him couldn’t be helped. Her support was kind, but there was something funny about it too. “Actually,” he said, as seriously as he could. “There’s this body I’ve been meaning to get rid of, and since my dad’s locked up, I could use some extra hands.”
betty cooper liked to think of herself as a two way street. the southside was her home, always has been. her mother grew up here, her father left the north to be with her mother, then came along betty and her sister. but something about the northside always caught her eye, like a welcome home sign was going to be made everytime she crossed the tracks. the jacket on her back told people other wise, though.
it certainly didn’t take a genius to see how introverted jughead jones was. he was a quiet kid, kept to himself and din’t spill out information to just anyone he wanted. she liked that most about him - he had to become mature at a young age, and he was doing it very well.
moving to get comfortable in her position at the table, her eyes were locked over on the boy in front of her, her eye brow cocking at the smile trying to come out of hiding on his face. “what?” she chuckled, placing a fry into her mouth. listening to his proposal, her bright eyes flickered jokingly. “is that so? and whee may this body be?”
