Netflix: Blonde
When i saw on Netlix that there would be a movie or Tv show about Marilyn, I was completely excited to watch, specially after I saw the actress that would portray her (In my most humble opinion, I thought they had chosen the right actress)
Wellβ¦. today i finally killed my curiosity and watched it, 2 hours and 47 minutesβ¦. I wish i had not!
The movie wasβ¦ absolutely disrespectful towards Marilynβ¦I right now staring at my laptop, trying to find words to continue this post (basically staring at my screen now)β¦..
I think that the only word that can come on my mind isβ¦disrespectful! Not only towards Marilyn, but Ana herself as well!
If you are reading this and have not watched yet, I would tell youβ¦ donβt! The movie has a lot of unnecessary nudity and sex, they have basically turned Marilyn into a **** and they also had the guts to include a very unsettling and disgusting scene with JFK, I meanβ¦. My God!
They could have done something so amazing and beautiful to Marilynβs memory with Ana, she is absolutely fantastic, from her voice to how she got to in many scenes confuse me about if whether was her or Marilyn herself, but insteadβ¦ they did what they did!
In life Marilyn was always sexualized, they wanted people to see her as just a sexy dumb blonde when in the reality she was so different!
I am still trying to find words, but they cannot be found otherwise I would be writing really heavy words and I donβt want to do this, so i am sorry about this post, but I wanted to vent and express how i feel after have watched this!
Hopefully someone decides to do a better movie about Marilyn, a movie that will talk about how her life was and who she really was rather than exploit her the way Hollywood did while she was alive and after she passed away, and hopefully they invite Ana again for that because this movieβ¦. absolutely disrespectful.

Horace McCoy describes the unnerving little park at DeLongpre and Cherokee in his bleak Hollywood novel I Should Have Stayed Home.
Decades after he composed the novel, the park has remained the same.
For almost 100 years, it has served the local working class community in its unassuming way.
The shrine to Rudolph Valentino has been here since 1930.

Rudolph Valentino died in New York on August 23, 1926. The next day, crowds filled the streets outside the Frank E. Campbell funeral home at Broadway and 66th St. during his memorial service. Valentino lay in state for several days and thousands of mourners rioted, smashed windows, and fought with police to get a glimpse of the deceased matinee idol. Standing guard by the coffin were four Fascists, allegedly sent by Italian leader Benito Mussolini but in fact hired by Frank Campbellβs press agent.
