âThereâs something thatâd be fun to see - more people that consider me their friend. Not that anyoneâll want to. But itâd be nice. And I didnât know you had to practice in order to get friends.â Heâd been under the assumption that they just⌠happened. That they drifted towards you through some power or another.
He supposed that as long as less people decided theyâd rather attack him on sight, heâd be happy. The more people that enjoyed his company, the better.
Then he paused. Let them be free?Â
âI donât want it to be free!â He snapped. âIt canât be in a body that can die, itâs dangerous! I keep telling people that itâs a ticking time bomb, and even after it went off once theyâre determined to let it wander!â Donât yell, some quiet part of him muttered. Donât yell at her. Donât get angry at her. She didnât do anything. Moonjumper huffed, then continued in a more controlled, less angry tone.
âItâs soul bits and mine no longer match up, apparently. But because weâre two halves of the same soul, they constantly try to rubber-band back to each other. If itâs in a body that can die, itâs only a matter of time before very bad things happen.â
Moonpuppet. Jagged splinters that took control any time the two of them happened to share the same body. He didnât like Moonpuppet, or what it wanted.
âI wouldnât enlist the grey folkâs help in too much. They like causing trouble. Itâs a good idea, though - they might help anyway, even if only to see if it gets me in trouble. Certainly worth a try - youâll be able to go more places either way~! And as long as the Ice Witch canât reach you, Iâm happy.â
âWell if I want to be your friend Iâm sure other people will too! Youâre nice, youâre funny, and I like being able to talk to you!â She had been smiling when she said that, but the cheerful expression on her face fell when he yelled.Â
Souls being yanked back together to form one, two halves that no longer matched up. Lily did not fully understand what Moonjumper was talking about, but she could tell that it made him scared, and she did not want him to be scared.Â
âEverything dies Moonjumper.â She began, voice oddly serious. âBut Iâm sorry I made you scared. I wonât do it again I promise.â
A soft sniffle escaped her and she wiped at her watery eyes before eagerly moving onto the next topic. âWell they were nice enough to help me get to you so maybe theyâll keep helping me.â
She doubted she would ever fully escape Vanessa and would most likely be used to torment her brother in some way, make him feel worse for having saved the Heart from her icy grasp, but she did not dare mention that to Moonjumper.Â
He was already feeling bad and did not want to make it worse...Â
