But for the 10 year hamilton tribute (WHICH WAS THE SAME YEAR AS THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF A CHORUS LINE) they brought back basically the entire original broadway cast and had them perform the original blocking and choreography. Right.

Also the graphic WAS ugly and I am shocked appalled they didnt at least use the original logo for the show theyre celebrating.

If youre going to do a park and bark tribute (which you shouldnt) the least you could do is have videos and pictures of the original cast and all notable replacements, a small in memorium segment, a reference to baayork lee for keeping the show in tact for 50+ years, references to the documentary, etc etc. But no. we couldn't even have that.

It's crazy to me that we are likely in the last few years of members of the original cast of a chorus line being alive and the tribute was a park and bark

Nobody cares about anything other than views and ratings because the tonys are a low viewership regional theatre awards show so i see where theyre coming from on a capitalist perspective because of course they will have rachel zegler, a young woman whose main audience consists of younger people, perform a tribute to a show that is 51 years old. they need her to get people to tune in so they can make money. but this comes at the cost of the sanctity of the text, which i think is made worse by the fact that shes performing what i did for love, the song that is introduced with the question, "If today were the day you had to stop dancing, how would you feel?"
