Everything I do is part of a process with purpose — from learning new skills and trying new ideas, to building systems and processes that can help improve and support many different community efforts. This has taken years of building step by step, learning as I go.

Now I am at the next stage: making final decisions for the sticker sets and fundraising options.

Food for thought: many of the images used for the stickers can already be found in the Just Oshawa “Pics In Oshawa” section. The next stage will also include images from the “Those With Photographer’s Comments” collection and images already featured in “Images With Purpose” from the Inspiring Times sections. These same images will continue growing into new “Stickers With Purpose” fundraising options.

A lot is happening this week as another step forward is being taken with the Stickers With Purpose fundraising efforts.

From learning how to make my own stickers, to designing them, and now reaching the final step, actually producing the stickers and placing them onto products, it is all starting to come together.

This next stage is also opening the door to helping create candle labels for my wife’s new adventure into candle making, adding even more creativity and purpose to what we are building together. The first fundraising stickers are now being produced, and next comes the exciting part, marketing and promotions. Every sticker, every design, and every new idea is connected to something much bigger.

The provided link now includes the latest examples from the Inspiring Times section, specifically the growing Stickers With Purpose collection. Each image found on the website has been created from photos taken within our community through Just Oshawa’s Pics In Oshawa and is now being utilized across a growing list of creative options and fundraising efforts. There is so much more connected to every image than many realize, but that is part of the journey and discovery waiting for you as these projects continue to grow with purpose.

All of these efforts are helping raise awareness and support for Wellness Without Barriers Oshawa, an independent community effort focused on creating an indoor space for growing, learning, sharing, and exploring what is possible through real living examples for all.

Each sticker is created with purpose using images I have taken within our community, combined with messages meant to inspire, encourage, and remind people that they matter. ❤️

Yesterday was another step forward. 🌱

I didn’t just talk about growing — I showed it. I built two 15L recycled container systems and I’m working toward five more over the next few days. I’ll be heading out to find more food-grade containers and keep expanding. I also created a couple of 4L versions and shared the basics on my website so others can start too.

At the same time, I’ve started helping others grow — especially those who want to, but don’t have the space. There are always options. 💚

I stay active because there’s no greater joy than being of service to others. And service isn’t just for those most in need — many people don’t realize the barriers they face until they’re already there.

The reality is hitting harder every day… Food costs keep rising, and more people are starting to ask: “How can I afford fresh vegetables?”

Some turn to the idea of eating healthier after health issues — but then they see the prices and the reality sets in.

That’s why I’m not just talking about it — I’m growing. In real time. With real options. 🌿

My focus is simple: health and wellness for all. Not just for those with space, money, or access — but for everyone.

Because the hard truth is this: fresh, whole foods are becoming out of reach for more and more people. Even community spaces can have barriers.

So I’m working on solutions that remove those barriers — real options that help break the dependency we’re seeing in our systems.

There are options. They may not always be easy to find… but they do exist.

💙 Wellness Without Barriers Oshawa — Built With Purpose, Built With Boundaries

You’ve been seeing more about Wellness Without Barriers Oshawa, and there’s a reason for that.

This isn’t something new — it’s the result of years of real, on-the-ground experience, now moving into the next step: building awareness and creating a path to fund it independently for our community.

Here’s a hard truth I’ve learned over 15+ years on the streets of Oshawa: 👉 Love and compassion need boundaries. I see it all the time — people handing out cash or gift cards, then saying, “I hope they don’t use it for drugs.”

But the reality is… when someone is in active addiction, cash and gift cards can easily be traded.

So I choose a different path: ✔️ A free meal, not a gift card ✔️ Basic necessities, not cash ✔️ A smile, respect, and kind words ✔️ The ability to say no, with compassion

That’s not a lack of care — that’s care with purpose. And another truth: Sometimes you will be met with anger or aggression. That’s not the person — that’s what they’re going through.

💬 Respond with calm.

🙂 Leave with a smile.

🚶‍♂️ And most importantly — keep yourself safe.

The moment a situation shifts, step away. Not out of fear — but out of awareness and respect for yourself.

This work isn’t easy. It never has been. But I’m not doing it for recognition or pay — I’m doing it because I care. I believe in action. I believe if something isn’t working, we don’t complain — we build something better.

Not every day is a great day—and that’s the truth.

I’ve had my struggles, just like anyone else. But what I’ve learned is this: those difficult moments don’t last forever. What carries you through is what you build into your daily life—your routine, your habits, your purpose.

For me, everything is built with purpose. It’s not about big, complicated changes. It’s about simple, consistent choices—made every single day.

Those choices carried me through some of the hardest moments of my life. After my stroke and open-heart surgery, there were days where staying positive took everything I had. In those early moments, even the smallest actions had meaning. Something as simple as holding basil in my hands, rubbing the leaves, and breathing in that scent—it grounded me. It reminded me to stay present. It gave me something real to hold onto.

Looking back now, I can clearly see it wasn’t just random—it was purposeful.

Every small action, every choice to keep going, helped build something stronger.

That routine became my foundation. That foundation became the purpose you see in everything I do today.

These things don’t just happen.

They are built—by choice, with intention, and with purpose. ❤️ Greater love and compassion for all .

I’ve completed the first 4 prototype containers for my upcoming outdoor growing efforts—and I’m truly happy with how the designs turned out.

Now it’s time to keep building. I have 3 more to finish over the next few days… and many more to come after that.

This next step is something I’ve been working towards with purpose: 🌿 7 different types of plants 🌿 One set growing outdoors in soil 🌿 One set growing indoors using my custom containers with the Kratky method

This is what it looks like to turn words and thoughts into real action—creating something meaningful for the benefit of all in our community, grounded in truth, love, and compassion.

🌱 A Big Part of What I Am Currently Working On 🌱

I am currently building out weekly events, with some becoming part of our Tuesday and Friday Lunch & Learn gatherings, alongside additional weekend opportunities and a possible weekday evening event.

I now have the container designs completed and have collected the 14 bottles needed to create the first 7 growing containers for the launch of the new As We Grow series. My plan is to grow the same 7 plant types in two ways:

🌿 One full set indoors using hydroponics 🌿 One full set outdoors in soil-based containers

I will also be growing much more than just these 7 plants this season, as I have several personal goals for this growing year.

While indoor growing space is limited, outdoors opens many possibilities—and as you will soon discover, there are many ways to grow successfully even in small outdoor spaces.

One of my goals this season is to grow 3 different types of lavender so I can learn which variety works best for making:

All of this ties directly into expanding health and wellness options through practical education and hands-on learning.

🌱 Everything we are building today is part of something greater tomorrow.

Many may not realize that the Not Just A Food Program was never meant to be only about food—it was built as one of the first stepping stones toward something much bigger.

Every effort we create is helping lay the foundation for future projects like the LIFE Transitional Housing Project, focused on education, opportunity, rebuilding lives, and creating lasting support for our community.
