Ever since his breakdown Ed had been spending more and more time away from the department-- actually he’d been spending more and more time away from everyone. Being in the confines of himself and his thoughts was easier. Wandering the streets alone he probably looked like quite the easy target. Tall, lanky and rather unassuming he was actually quite the opposite. Though he wasn’t physically imposing Ed always managed to at the very least talk his way out of most situations. Shoving his hands into the pockets of his overcoat he dipped his head towards the ground. The silent footsteps that were behind him went unnoticed as did the hand that started to reach into his pocket. Had his hand been there Ed wouldn’t have noticed it. Stopping in his tracks Ed looked over his shoulder. ❝Perhaps you should have looked to see if my hand was already where you were reaching. Besides---❞ The look in the woman’s eye was familiar and for a moment Ed attempted to place it before the name flickered in his memory. ❝Selina you’re going to have to be better than that to pull something over on me.❞
