Scerek AU: Derek is human and finds out Scott's secret.

"Get back " Scott pushes himself away from Derek, his head bowed, his eyes squeezed shut. He peddles backwards, ignoring the fact he just knocked over one of his participation trophies. Derek watches helplessly as Scott struggles to find the bathroom. 

"What’s wrong?" He finally asks, taking a step toward Scott. "Scott!" 

But the other boy says nothing, just falls to his knees breathing heavily. “I said, step back!” This time Scott’s voice is a bark, concealing a growl. Only after the boys words are uttered does he meet Derek’s eyes. 

"Holy shit," Derek stares, his heart racing, at the glowing yellow eyes of his boyfriend. As Scott lifts his head, Derek’s eyes fall to the fangs popping out of his mouth. Derek had always heard ledges, his Uncle Peter was obsessed with finding real werewolves. Derek never believed them, but how could he deny what was right in front of him?

Scott slowly stands up, his breath still ragged, his glowing eyes struggling to focus on Derek’s.  ”I didn’t want you to find out this way.”

"Oh," he finally said, and then went back to his espresso. Because he had great social skills.

At that single-worded response Scott snorted, a small smile on his face. What an oddball.

Scott wasn't sure when or why it became a regular thing for Scott to come in to the Nightly Grind. He'd like to say it was because of the convenient location and the fact it was open 24-hours, and it was because of that, at first. Soon, though, it became less about convenience and more about the satisfying consistency of seeing Eyebrows every night. Eyebrows was really weird, of course, and had the social skills of an especially handsome pile of dirt, but Scott was beginning to like him, for certain. 

Well, that, and Eyebrows's coffee was ridiculously good.

That particular night, though, Scott's sunny mood was somewhat dampened by his exhaustion and, more than that, the horrible pain that had started in his thigh and ended up going all the way down his leg and hip. He'd tried an especially hardcore move on the pole that night, and, though it was one that he had pulled off several times before, it was later in the night that time around, and his palms had started to sweat -- causing him to slip and fall onto the stage.

Scott had handled it with elegance, of course, just spun around and used it as an excuse to take his pants off. Luckily, it had been ladies night, so the lap dances had been minimal, most of the girls just wanting to touch his chest or, in the case of one woman, grope his ass and shove a 20 dollar bill in the back of his pants, so the pain hadn't been too excruciating, but it seemed to grow worse and worse throughout the day. By the time he made it to the coffee shop, he almost didn't even feel in the mood for conversation.

Almost.
