I Have A Dedicated Sports Blog How Did This Happen
About:
Kraken and Wild mainly, some Devils, but I'll reblog other teams if something catches my eye, especially if it's goalie related
PWHL teams are Seattle and Boston
Don't really care for the Capitals, Panthers, Senators, Knights, or Flames; I just don't vibe with them/some of their players. Pretty neutral about every other team.
There miiiiight be an occasional baseball post
F1 content will appear randomly because it's interesting but I don't have the time to get fully involved
I'm very socially awkward, so I don't interact a lot, sorry
I do some live blogging here and there for the teams that I like and the games I can watch, but it'll be a bit more sporadic due to life stuff picking up

Sharks sign forward Macklin Celebrini to a five-year contract extension
San Jose SharksΒ (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Mike Grier announced today that theΒ club has signedΒ forwardΒ MacklinΒ CelebriniΒ to aΒ five-year contract extension worthΒ $18.8 million AAV.Β
βIn just two seasons as a teenager in the National Hockey League and on the International stage, Macklin has established himself as one of the premier players in the world,β said Grier.β―βWe are extremely excited to have him secured and committed as the centerpiece of a core of talented players in San Jose.β―Β
βAs we continue our goal of building a team capable of annually competing for the Stanley Cup, we want to thank Macklin and his representatives for a respectful negotiationβ―process, andβ―acknowledge the flexibility they have provided to the team in how we allocate future dollars towards the team being constructed around Macklin.β―Β
βI also want to thank Hasso Plattner for his continued commitment and steadfast dedication to providing the financial resources to put the best team possible on the ice for our passionate fans, who deserve a winner in San Jose.βΒ
βI couldnβt be happier to sign an extension today,ββ―Celebriniβ―said. βThe faith and supportβ―thatβ―Mr. Plattner, Mike Grier and the entire staff have shown meβ―throughoutβ―the past two seasons is proof that we are building something special here.β―My teammates and I are ready to take another step toward theβ―ultimate goalβ―of bringing a Stanley Cup to this city and its incredible fans.β―Iβ―canβtβ―wait to get going.ββ―Β
β―Β
βFrom our very first conversation, it was clear that Mike and Mr. Plattner were fully committed to Macklinβs future in San Jose,β said Pat Brisson, Co-Head of Hockey at CAA Sports,β―Celebriniβsβ―agency. βMacklin is not only an exceptional player, but also an outstanding person, and weβre proud to support him as he continues his journey with the Sharks.ββ―Β
Celebrini,Β 20,Β finished fourth in the NHLΒ withΒ 115 points, tied for fourth with 45 goals andΒ wasΒ seventh with 70 assists in the regular season, helping San Jose claim theΒ second-biggest season-over-season improvement in both wins (+19) and standings points (+34) in team history, theΒ leagueβs 10th-biggest year-over-year improvement in points and tied for eighth-biggest leap in year-over-year winsΒ in the past 30 yearsΒ (not counting the shortened 2012-13 to full 2013-14 seasons).Β
The second-year centerman, who ranked thirdΒ in the NHLΒ in even-strength goals (37) andΒ tied for thirdΒ in even-strength points (82),Β set theΒ SharksΒ franchise scoring record with his final point of the campaign, a goal that capped a three-point effort in the final game of the regular season. He completed the campaign factoring into 46.2-percent of all Sharks goals, the second-best such mark in the league this season andΒ best everΒ by an NHLΒ teenagerΒ or anyΒ San Jose skater.Β Β
The Sharks went 26-6-2Β onΒ the season whenΒ CelebriniΒ scored a goal, were 37-18-5 when he registered at least one point and boasted a record of 26-3-2 in his multi-point efforts.Β HisΒ 82 even-strength points and 37 even-strength goals were the most ever in a single campaign by a Shark,Β his 18 three-point efforts tied Thornton for most by a skater inΒ any ofΒ the teamβs 35 seasonsΒ and hisΒ 31 multi-point contests tied forΒ the second-most games with two or more points in a season in Sharks history.Β CelebriniΒ finished 56 points ahead of the teamβs next-closest scorer, the widest gap for anyΒ NHLΒ teamβs top scorer to itsΒ second-rankedΒ since 1990-91.Β
Of the teamβs 37 wins in regulation or overtime (excluding shootouts), Macklin was credited with the game-winning goal or assisted on the winning goal 19 times (51.4%), and in the teamβs 12 wins that went into extra time (OT or shootout), he was a factor in eight of those wins.Β
By the end of the season, he led the Sharks in nearly everyΒ offensiveΒ statistical category:Β goals, assists, points, plus/minus (plus-8), points-per-game (1.40), even-strength goalsΒ and points,Β power-play goals (eight),Β power-play points (33), overtime goals (2), game-winning goals,Β andΒ shots (287).Β Β
His accomplishments during the 2025-26 campaign were historic among NHL teens, withΒ CelebriniΒ joining Gretzky (1979-80) as the only players under 20 years old to claim a 40-plus goal, 70-plus assist season.Β His point total was the third-best among teens in a single season in league history, trailing only Crosby (120 in 2005-06) and Gretzky (137 in 1979-80), and he joined the duo as the only three teens in league history to finish in the top five of a seasonβs scoring rankings.Β He now ranks fourth in career assists (108) ever by anΒ NHL skater before turning 20, fifth in scoring (178Β points) and seventh inΒ career goals (70) in the age group.Β His 13-game point streak from December 11 through January 10 (nine goals, 18 assists) was the second-longest in Sharks history and the second-longest ever by a teenager in the NHL.Β
The centerman was named NHL Third StarΒ ofΒ December after finishing fourth in the league with 25 points, third at 1.79 points-per-game played. He was the leagueβs First Star of the Week on Oct. 27 after posting 10 points (five goals, five assists) over four games in the preceding week, highlighted by a hat trick in a five-point effort at the New York Rangers on Oct. 23, the teamβs first win of the season, and was selected as the leagueβs Third Star on Nov. 23 after tallying seven points (four goals, three assists) over four games, including two game-winning goals.Β
This past year,Β CelebriniΒ alsoΒ representedΒ his nation at the highest levels of internationalΒ play,Β appearing forΒ Team Canada at both the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics and the World Championship.Β Β
At the Olympics,Β heΒ became the youngest NHL player to be named to Team Canadaβs roster, andΒ led the tournament in goals, and finished second behind Connor McDavid.Β CelebriniβsΒ performance at the tournament was the best showing by a teenager,Β en-route to a Silver Medal finish.Β
At the World Championship,Β CelebriniΒ was named as theΒ Captain for Canada and became theΒ secondΒ youngest captain for theΒ Senior Menβs team atΒ majorΒ an international tournament.Β He postedΒ 14 points across 10 games and by the end of the tournament was named the Best Forward and theΒ tournament All-Star Team.Β Β
CelebriniΒ was named the IIHF Male PlayerΒ of the YearΒ for 2025-26, was a Ted LindsayΒ Memorial Trophy Finalist, andΒ was voted Sharks Player of the Year by Bay Area media for the second consecutive seasonΒ after earning theΒ sameΒ award as well as Sharks Rookie of the Year in 2024-25.Β
Over the course of his career,Β CelebriniΒ has registered 178 points (70 goals, 108 assists) in 152 career games with San Jose.Β He was the first teenagerΒ in franchise history to score 30 goals in aΒ season, andΒ was a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy in 2024-25, owning the franchise record forΒ most assists and points by a rookie.Β Β
The six-foot, 190-pound native of North Vancouver, British Columbia was selected by the Sharks in the 2024 NHL Draft, the teamβs first-ever first-overallΒ selection.

*guy who doesn't know anything about sports and has never cared about sports in his life* hey did you know womens professional baseball is returning after 70 years and the games are going to be streamed for free on youtube and the season starts august 1st
I think this is so cool and it's awesome they're streaming games for free! I also think it's incredible that this picture is the one they used to advertise the opening day. It's like those videos where someone threatens the camera while their partner shows off their collection of rocks they found.
