Iβm thinking about a BloodyMary au where Grace and Simon are involved in the same mission to save the world with a small group of other characters from each universe, and the group looks a bit like the group from Atlantis- different backgrounds, different reasons for being there- and Grace is obviously recruited as the naive-to-corruption Milo character who consults for all the science, and Simon is there against his will as a disposable person with useful mechanical skills and Ava has him in like. A shock collar and or ankle monitor. To keep him in line until the mission is done. And Grace is oblivious to this and keeps trying to befriend him despite Simon being cold (assuming Grace is being condescending). And he doesnβt understand what Simonβs deal is until theyβre walking a little ways from the others one night at camp and itβs too far away from Ava and the monitor goes off and Simon collapses convulsing and Grace is spooked so bad, his eyes opened to the nature of his situation, and he storms into her tent later, demanding the torture device be taken off their mechanic, jsut to be flat out told no and that he needs to mind his business. Leading to Grace doing the opposite of that, duh. And when he eventually makes contact with Rocky and begins communicating with him in secret, Simon is the only one he tells/trusts and itβs the first time in a long time Simonβs been humanized and included without an ulterior motive. And he has to decide if heβs gonna try believing in the good of humanity (and Eridians) again by keeping this secret or get himself closer to freedom by telling Ava about the technologically advanced aliens making friends with Grace.
