Mod Statement

Due to disagreeing with Discord's new surveillance policy where it will

- use ai to read your message history and view your images to decipher whether or not you are 18

- ask for ID or use face recognition to confirm if you are 18

We are moving from discord to Fluxer, an open source discord clone with user privacy in mind.

Further Explanation

The mods of the playhouse have collectively decided to leave discord due to the statements above as well as a moral obligation on their parts to combat fascist ideals whenever possible. Censorship and mass surveillance should not be met with compliance but instead resistance. We would not agree to give our IDs to any online entity, much less one that leaked thousands of its UK users IDs not a few months before rolling out the ID policy world wide. By leaving it shows the company how displeased its users are. This is the message we hope to send. Remaining complacent only allows it to get worse in the future, remaining complacent is what lead us to this point.

We are allowing those currently in the discord server to get moved over first, and then we will post the link here on Tumblr side.

Don't worry we have not abandoned the server even if we have been a little quiet the past few months.

We have it mostly ready to go too! We have some finishing touches and were hoping for the new mobile app to come out before we make the full switch (but that is looking less and less like it will happen.)

Okay, Updates abound! Not only has Discord cut ties with Persona, but they are delaying age verification until the middle of 2026. While they are still going through with it this means we have a little more time to get the other two servers ready! Which is awesome.

FLUXER IS OUR NEW BEST FRIEND

Since Chatbap seems to be too deep in beta right now to actually function, including major issues with its server setup, we will be adopting FLUXER as the sister location to our STOAT server.

Fluxer functions much like discord and has nearly the same UI.

While we don't expect chatbap to be in a completely functional state by the time the new discord policy roles out, we will be slowly working to create a server. The process will be slow, but we will still let you know whenever it goes live.
