“You have a free period now, correct?” She didn’t wait for Ginny to answer. “Good. Minerva—the Headmistress—asked that I send you her way once class concluded.”

I don't know if any year has embodied a line of music as well as this did for 2025. I heard this song for the first time in November of '24, as I was getting into the car to start a 9 hr road trip to our Thanksgiving destination. It inspired me to take this idea in my head and get it down on paper. We haven't reached the one, single, specific scene that played in my head when I heard this song (not even close), but I keep getting closer to it.

And so as we look back, forward, and everywhere in between just keep looking for that good news.

"You defied the Ministry-appointed High Inquisitor on multiple occasions, and then led a student raid into the Department of Mysteries that resulted in catastrophic damage to the Hall of Prophecy. Sixth Year: relatively quiet…except for a near-fatal duel with Draco Malfoy."

She gave him a hard, withering look, and Harry felt the weight of it pressing down.

Ginny shot into the air, broom straining beneath her as the Starters fanned out into their positions. She took center field, Maddox sliding into place on her left and Demelza on her right. Jimmy and Ritchie flanked the Chasers, ready to intercept or support as needed. Thaddeus drifted back toward the goalposts, eyes scanning for any break in Alderholt’s offense. Aria hovered low, just as Ginny had drilled into her, keeping a direct, unbroken line of sight toward the Snitch, which still hadn’t been released.

“Leading the Alderholt Ashwinders is Keeper Henry Baines!” Lee Jordan’s voice boomed over the crowd. “He posted the highest save percentage in the Independent Schools Quidditch League during their last full season. And look at that luxurious mop of hair and those piercing blue eyes. Ladies, I’ve been told he’s single—”

“JORDAN!” McGonagall’s amplified voice cut through, sharp and warning.

December will have a lighter posting schedule than the past few months. Holidays and all. Stay tuned for Chapter 14 (coming 12/8) and Chapter 15 (coming 12/22) for the end of the Auror Training Arc.
