Interview with Holly Goldberg Sloan

The American film director, producer, screenwriter and New York’s best-selling novelist-Holly Goldberg Sloan appeared at the SIBF 2016, Book Forum on Day 6. The panel discussion titled ‘’Cinemas- Books to Screen’’ was a tremendous platform for her to express her view on the adaptation of writings onto a screen as a screenwriter and novelist. She also spoke of her latest novel ‘Apple Blossom the Possum’ which was published in 2015 by Dial (Penguin Random House) and won the Amazon Best Book of the Month! with interviewer  Sakeena Mushtaq (Third year Print student  @manipal dubai).

Interview with Elen Caldecott

The UK-based children's fiction writer, Elen Caldecott envisions to help children dwell with reality and achieve extraordinary things with her simple yet profound writings. She discusses the present-day literature for youngsters and also gives instances from her book- Operation Eiffel tower at the 35th SIBF 2016. Besides the career fair exhibit, the event includes pre-placement talks, campus interviews and technical talk sessions.

The panel discussions are drawn from the theme ‘Behind the Scenes’, where industry leaders across business domains share their experience from which students can draw inspiration.

The first set of panel sessions explored the leadership perspective. Titled ‘Rise & Fall’, its panelists included some of the industry’s most revered: Himanshu Vashista, Founder and CEO of Sixthfactor Consulting; Sankar Sundarsan Founder and CEO of Stravalor Management Consultants; Carla Klumpenaar, Regional Communication and Interior Design Manager at IKEA (UAE, Oman, Egypt, Qatar); Dr. Govindrajan, Head R&D at Himalaya Global Research Centre; Anurag Malhotra, Head of International Ad Sales and Event Sponsorships, Zee Network ME; and Vikas Handa, Managing Director at Weir Oil and Gas.

Robin Chaurasiya, top 10 finalists for Global Teacher Prize interacts with our students on 15th March 2016. Listen to our one on one interview with her as we learn about her initiatives, what keeps her inspired and what we can do help her cause. Robin is the founder of Kranti School (‘Revolution’ in Hindi) empowers marginalised girls in Mumbai’s red light district to become agents of social change. The school is truly diverse with different ages, literacy levels, languages, ethnicities, religions, castes and abilities. With Robin’s help, the Krantikaries develop into peer teachers and community leaders.
