"mnghhhggg..." The grumbled as he backed away

"smell... strong-..."

Hunter tilted his head, in awe like finding a stray dog in the wild. Never he thought there would be another pup wondering in Sinyala, wtihout any master.

"Did you smell my perfume, or..." He reached his suit pocket "This treat for my boys ?"

He ran his tongue along his teeth, trying to clean the access chewed up treat out of his teeth.

“Hmngh…” assuming to be a noise of gratitude?

He smiled gleefully, like a little boy finding a tame puppy. He was always fond of canines in many forms.

"You're cute one. Are you a stray ? " Hunter hunched down to match the eye level of the sitting man-wolf. "Would you like to go home with me? "

Hunter pulled out a dog whistle, calling his two loyal guard dogs. "I think they could be your friends."

He raised his hand as his two dogs rushed to him, barking softly as waiting commands from their master.

"Sit !"

And they sit obediently, quiet with the bark while wagging their tails.

He glanced at the dogs again, sniffing the air subtly, trying to gauge their intent. His instincts told him to be wary. He slowly backed away.

“Uhhggnnmmm…”

His hands formed into fists which rested onto the ground. The claws attached to the back of his hands scraping against the ground gently, as if he was thinking. His mind started racing with thoughts and feelings.

“I—“

‘They might do nothing but hurt you. Be careful and weary.’

Cooper choked on the air as he heard the voices speak to him. He gently rose his hand and placed it on the head of the wolf that rested on him.

“Shh…”

He quietly hushed the wolf… As if- it spoke to him?

Hunter was a little confused with the Man-Wolf having a conflict with himself, but he understood that it was common for canines to be unsure of an unfamiliar pack.

"...Can you still speak? Do you perhaps, have a name i can call you ?" Hunter wasn't entirely blind. He knew he was still a man, hence the nickname Man-Wolf. Bullet and Trap couldn't speak anymore, as if they need it anyway.

Bullet sniffed at him, slowly approaching with friendly intention. He kept an eye contact, while Trap was completely blind and relied on his smelling sense so he just sit and waiting for Bullet's next move.

“AGcHHJsKSCQDFFF—” The sound escaped him like a startled squawk, a mix of surprise and indignation as he landed. He huffed in frustration before lifting his head to take in the scene around him, his gaze landing on the imposing guard dog nearby. He looked directly at Hunter's companion, a sleek creature with keen eyes.

He hesitated for a moment, weighing his words carefully. “... Cooper,” he finally managed, feeling a slight tremor in his voice.

"Cooper -- Rusty. Careful."

Cooper choked back his nerves, pushing himself slowly back up. He dug his metal-bladed claws into the flooring for leverage, feeling the cool surface beneath him. The world around him felt charged with tension.

He attempted to sniff Bullet, one of Hunter's dogs, cautious and deliberate. The scent was sharp and unfamiliar, making his heart race.

“Cooper,” he said again, trying to steady himself amidst the rising voices in his mind. The cacophony grew louder, pushing his nerves to the brink, and he felt the familiar instinct of fight or flight kick in.

Exhaling slowly, he scooted back, giving himself a moment to breathe. As he focused on the unfamiliar entities around him, he managed to calm the storm within, if only a little.

“I don’t—”

“Quit being vulnerable,”

“—talk much,” Cooper finished, his voice barely above a whisper, as if sharing a secret.

“You’re letting your guard down,”

In a reflexive motion, Cooper raised his hand to tug at the wolf perched on his head, shuffling it around as if trying to quiet it. The gesture was almost comforting, a small semblance of control in a situation that felt overwhelming.

"Oh-" Hunter almost choked on his own spit in disbelief. He expected a stuttered words, but this Wolf-Man;named Cooper, could speak clearly. It gave Hunter some awkward feelings.

"Ah, well.." This was the rare moment Hunter lost at words.

But he was relieved that Bullet carefully approached the Wolf-Man and not causing any disturbance. Trap however, choose to stay still as there was no need to intervene. He just panting and wagging his tail while sit still.

"You ain't gonna greet him ?"

Trap just woofed, and stay still.

"Oh you lazy big boy" Hunter patted Trap's back to make him move, yet he just shook his head.

"I'm sorry, i didn't mean to treat you like...some kind of actual animal." Hunter was a little bit confused. Why acted like a dog if he was able to speak perfectly ? Was he the same like his pups, except he can talk ?

"But i'm glad you could get along with my guards. Many people were scared of them. Only that little man Franco and my friends that had no problem with them."

“Franco…” he choked out, the name barely escaping his lips before a fit of giggles bubbled up from his chest, bright and infectious, breaking the tension that had momentarily gripped him.

“Friend,” Cooper continued.

How to respond? How to articulate the jumble of feelings spiraling within him? He could feel the complexity of his identity pressing down on him, like a weight he couldn't quite shake off.

“I am—a dog… a wolf… I’m…” His voice trailed off, uncertainty creeping into his tone, a shadow flickering across his expression. The confusion danced in his eyes, and he felt a tug at his heart, as if he were being pulled in two directions. It seemed that Cooper’s character was deeper than what first appeared; there was a whole world within him that begged to be explored.

Hunter back up a little bit, in confusion and giving Cooper more space. This was..the first time he didn't know what to say. This was the first time he feel...awkward? Pity? Something genuine in his emotion ? Hunter looked at the wolf head on the Wolf-Man. It felt..strange. Like the hollow eye socket was starring right to him..

But at the very least, one thing he could make sure is Cooper was not afraid of him, or his dog. And it seemed, Franco was an ally for that Wolf-Man as well.

Looking at Cooper in playful expression, barking in friendly tone, Hunter nodded to himself. This Wolf-Man can be trusted around his territory.

"Well, then Cooper, i don't mean to surround you with my guards like this, heheh. But im glad you find some enjoyment in our company."

Hunter whistled, commanding his guards to separate, letting them do their own thing and continue exploring the area.

"Please, feel free to explore my place, Cooper. And if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me or ask one of my pups."

"God, what did they do to you? I have some spare clothes to prevent cold. Those scientist predicted tonight would be cooler than usual."

Classic Hunter, a little "Hi" at first wouldn't be hurt.

As the women noticed his presence, He inspected her from head to toe. Scars and stitches everywhere, wires connected from her chest to a device on her hips, with a leg brace that needed some little fix here and there.

"l-lost...."

"Come, come. Don't be shy, you are welcomed here." Hunter gently guided the tall woman into his lair.

"First, we need to give you some clothes. Oh i hate how they let some women here with bare body. Where's the respect ?"

The clothes he had, may not in the best condition. Sometimes he recieved donation from Murkoff themself. Sometimes...he took it from his victims. After they turned into statue, why would the need their clothes anyway.

she lets out a grunt of gratitude, trying to smile. it looks more like a grimace than anything.

"f-friend....?"

Hunter chuckled softly. "Yes, a friend. I mean no harm to you, i assure you that."

He did notice how she was perhaps, a little bit nervous ? Although he knew it's uncommon for expops to need to adjust on his kindness, maybe even a little bit uncomfortable.

"I will give you some space. Feel free to wonder my area." He smiled, welcoming her once again.
