U.S. soldiers in France holding Model 1917 Enfield rifles. The 1903 Springfield was the official issue, but the Americans didn’t have enough, and three quarters of their soldiers in Europe fought with the Enfield.

Really great photo showing Australian numbers late in the war. This particular unit first saw action on the Somme, at Fromelles, then Polygon Wood the following year, and, finally, here on the Hindenburg Line. Casualties were not replaced and the unit became smaller and smaller. This is a whole company! Shortly after this photo, the 29 Battalion was disbanded and the members moved to other battalions of the 8th Australian Brigade.
Hey, well, this is a bit weird, but I saw this photo of Oswald with horses and thought, "This guy liked horses. You know who else liked horses? Manfred."
Because, well, he was a cavalry officer and used to race horses, so I’m 100% convinced that if they had both survived the war, they’d be living happily on their little land with a lots of horses and dogs.
Also i like to imagine them going for a horseback ride after, I don't know, shooting down warplanes.
And then I imagined them kissing.
I think this is the first time in my life I've drawn horses, so... well, I don't think they turned out too badly, but it was really dificult.
