I'm going to need it to start raining right now to both bring this temperature down and stop my neighbors from setting off fireworks all night.

It's been so long since I've started a new fic I actually forgot how I set up my pre-fic tags/summary/notes section. (Interference is still fighting me, so I'm writing something smaller and softer to try to loosen things up or something.)

I had been so hopeful that maybe I could get to my lawn today, since we're off work since the 4th is a Saturday, but nope, the heat index is 84F/29C already at 6:30 am. We'll see if tomorrow morning is any less gross.

If these are indeed perimenopause symptoms, I have two thoughts: 1) the quicker that nonsense shuts down the better, I never wanted a uterus in the first place, and 2) I could really do without the worse-than-usual depression.

And now I have no idea how I'm going to get Alex to Rosswood Hospital. Everyone else, I've come up with a story-appropriate reason why, but other than "Alex needs to be there," I do not have an answer for him. The only thing that seems remotely possible is that, knowing that Jay took the map from him, assumes that he'll go there at some point in time, goes to the hospital after he snaps in the tunnel and decides he has to kill Jay, too? I can do whatever I want with the timing since the Operator does whatever it wants with time, so that's not a problem, I just have to have him there for an actual reason.

When do I get to feel human again?

If your "sex positivity" doesn't respect and hold a place for sex-repulsed people (mostly thinking of asexuals, but it can encompass anyone), then it's not sex-positive, it's sex-mandatory, and you can see how that's a problem, yes?

Ah, writer problems. In her current state (and Operator-related active mental degradation), she absolutely would steal Tim’s lighter and make a spray paint flamethrower, but also, that might be a bit too "well that escalated rapidly" violent for this particular fic and how it has been written so far.

Ah, the trade-off of "sleep poorly because bedroom way too hot" versus "sleep slightly less poorly because couch."

Ok, the biggest downside (i jest) of sleeping on my couch because my bedroom is Too Hot is that I have to get up and cross the room to where my phone is charging in order to jot down the fic ideas that occur while I'm trying to fall asleep, instead of having it right next to me at arm's reach.

How much light does a lighter provide in a dark room/at night? I know "not much," but roughly how much is not much?

I don't know when Interference will finish writing (I opened the doc Friday, yesterday, and this morning and, well, nothing has happened yet), but when it does, I think I should reread the comics and get back into A Most Peculiar Man.
