it doesn't MATTER because those luchadores being seen DOING the suástica move were TÉCNICOS. they were the GOOD GUYS, the FAN FAVOURITES. doesn't that read something to you. "hey here's the good guy bending a dude into a swastika" "hey here's starman bending a guy who has the fucking star of david on him into a swastika, i'm a good guy btw". you KNOW it does. they're NOT getting heat. they're the GOOD guys. starman WAS técnico. so don't pull that.
i wasn't there in the 1990s watching the matches happen. but also seeing a fucker called el nazi wearing swastikas, heiling and so on should not be fucking defended. he had swastikas on his champion belts, he'd heil with the outfits of a nazi, it wasn't a protest. the guy had like no career before el nazi, he used his hatred to gain a small-scale career. if it REALLY was a protest, why did he win so many belts. why did he win championships. why did his move get picked up by big names. WHY DID HE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO THE SUÁSTICA TO MIL MÁSCARAS. thats not a protest, that's taking an idol and shoving him into a suástica position, which to me doesn't seem like a protest.
and even if you want to go by this idea of "this was the time period", we aren't in that fuckass time period and it never should've been okay in that time period. i don't excuse that just because it was years back, luchadores that were FAMOUS still did those moves, still engaged with el nazi, that doesn't change shit. the reason (because it will come up) i don't mention the guys in the moves is because i wouldn't be shocked if they got the call in a split-second and didn't PROCESS what the hold was because it doesn't look like a swastika in a lot of photos, but even then i do squint my fucking eyes. especially at mil máscaras for agreeing to do a match with a man fucking called el nazi.
