Rabastan & Regulus
At the mention of Mary Macdonald, a girl whom infuriated Rabastan more than most yet he enjoyed the fact that if he truly wanted to he could make her his little game. Truth be told the reason Rab was even still at this school was because it was so easy to harm those he believed to be inferior and she was just another to add to that list. âWell maybe this study partnership isnât so bad after all ⌠You should do me a favour, get to know her weaknesses, then I can play on them ⌠Oh Iâd love to see that little bitch begâ The way Rab was going off on a tangent was rather worrying, in fact he daydreamed about causing other people pain more than he should , not that he cared.
The idea that Regulus may not want to sign up at all was not something that had even crossed Rabâs mind, in fact he had been so sure that when the time came the two boys would fight alongside each other. Sure, there may have been a delay, even he had been nervous about practically handing himself over to the Death eaters but it was not something he wouldnât have done. âWhat?!â He exclaimed, sitting up straight away and just sat there staring at his friend in utter disbelief â he had to be joking, right! âYouâre having me on⌠of course youâre going to join up, what would your family think? This is what weâve been waiting for, finally someone is standing up against all of this⌠thisâŚâ Trailing off Rab clenched his fists angrily, if there was anything that annoyed him more than muggleborns and blood traitors then he hadnât found it yet. âYou have to sign up, if you donât sign up then youâre just as bad as all of themâ  Â
Regulus heaved a sigh, glancing sideways at his friend. "You're too much, Rabastan. Honestly, how do you expect me to get to know her weaknesses? We're going to be studying, and that's all. I don't want to spend a second more than I have to with her."
Regulus let out a laugh, careful to inflect mirth upon it. Rabastan was not the one to talk to, then. "Just a joke, Rab. It was just a joke. I wanted to see what you'd say, that's all." He grinned and shoved lightly at Rabastan's shoulder. He was nervous, though. If Rabastan, one of his closest friends, couldn't be trusted, then there probably wasn't anyone who could. It was times like these that he missed his brother.
"Don't worry about it, Rab. I'm signing up."Â
