Rewatching project hail Mary for the 7th time and the way Eva sings the "we can meet again somewhere, somewhere faraway from here" lines looking directly at Grace makes me tear up so fucking bad. Because he was the only one she could call a friend. The one who has been with her the entire mission through every decision. These lines are such a direct foreshadowing of her "betraying" him. Because in this universe she will sacrifice him even if it hurts her for the world. She has no choice, in this reality she will choose to betray him again and again to save humanity. By singing those lines while directly looking at him it's as if she is pleading to the universe. It's as if she is acknowledging that if they had met somewhere else, far away from this mission, far away from a dying world, maybe it wouldn't have to end this way.
