âThe rules in my world are different, ya arenât tâjoin yer team battling yourself. Ya could get hurt pretty bad from some of those moves.â Piers chuckles a bit but could imagine just how strong Darious was just from that battle. He gave a low hum in thought about it again and felt himself slip downwards a bit. Right, he wasnât strong here and especially not alone.
Rather than continuing to slip down that slope, he nods with a very small smile, âIâd like that. Maybe ya can come see mine too. Though⌠Guessinâ this experience must be how ya knew what happened to me so fast huh? In a way Iâm grateful, no offense. Just better than lettinâ myself spiral further than Iâd already done.â
It wouldnât do to think about that when he was still teetering on the edge of a breakdown. Sure, he was much more stable now than before but damn, he was still pretty fragile at the moment. Instead, he grabs his borrowed guitar before strumming on it quietly. It was a thinly veiled attempt to keep his mind and hands occupied. It was pretty apparent that this was what he truly excelled at doing even from his nonsense playing.
âIâm glad this is reversible⌠I have a kid sister back home, Marnie, and I donât want to even think about what sheâd do without me. Iâm all she has left in the world outside of her Pokemon and friends. Sheâs strong yeah but, sheâs still just a kid that shouldnât have to deal with the world yet.â
There was a knowing look and edge to his voice that spoke of experience. After all, heâd been Marnieâs age himself when he had to step in as her guardian and caretaker. âSorry, shouldnât ramble like that. Hard to stay focused right now.â
Yâshtola nods. âI see. Indeed, it wouldnât be good for either of you to get in trouble for such a thing. I must admit curiosity though over the abilities of the creatures called Pokemon in your world though. When Darious returns with them, I will be curious as to what theyâre capable of.â She says sipping her tea.
âWe must use our experiences to grow, whether good or bad. Itâs a lesson I always took to heart, but have come to greater appreciation of in recent journeys.â She says with a soft smile. It was certainly a crazy time to be alive in, in her mind anyway. Too many events that will be recorded in historical context to count really. But she wishes to discover more as always, and she has no desire to ever stop.
Carbie yips in agreement with Yâshtola, still cuddling and nuzzling up to Piers for the time.
Yâshtola listens to Piers speak about Marnie, before shaking her head. âIt might help to speak more about your sister. It will likely help keep your mind calm. Too tight of a focus is more likely to put you on greater edge than otherwise.â She says to him.
