sometimes i remember about that fuckass teacher i had in the comics academy that told us that "weird" ( read as: not squares or rectangle ) frames in comics were bad and sucked hard and we mustnt use them and i hope hes having a bad day. he and his boring, uncreative mind

I'm a bit nervous to play ds3 for...multiple reasons. The main reason being I thought ds1 was "mid" (its more complicated than that but yeah) and therefore I'm not super excited to be flung back into a world where, it seems, it all revolves around ds1. I really liked in ds2 where you had little bits here and there where you could tell it was connected, but mostly it was Way long ago and its a new age now and it felt new. But in this game it's still firelink shrine (although different), Andre is here again, the fire keepers are back (?), etc. I also didn't expect the plot to be the exact same thing from the other two games...I thought maybe they'd switch it up. Well I guess we'll see 😭 I have high hopes otherwise though it's beautiful so far and I enjoy fast paced combat a lot more!

DS3 has a LOT to say thematically about these cycles, especially through the DLCs!!! I love it to pieces and it’s really subversive in a lot of cool ways

What a miracle and burden for her to carry that magic alone, like I wonder how she feels being possibly the last magical Athian…especially since her magic is so different from Cuff’s, like, are they alone together? Or does their proximity only make the solitude more painful?

The thing about Kingdom Hearts is that you cannot logically explain everything that happens and you’re not supposed to. It’s not supposed to make logical sense. It’s supposed to make thematic sense, symbolic sense, spiritual sense, allegorical sense, etc. It’s metaphors. It’s vibes. You need to approach it like a poem or a dream. The series tells you that right away with the opening of KH1 framing the game as like a dream. It’s nonsense on the surface. You have to look deeper. You have to think about what everything represents. Not how is this happening, but why is this happening. What does it stand for. What is the thematic connection. You’ll drive yourself crazy trying to understand it logically.

Weirdly this is also how I experience Warframe, like it’s a lot of things that I can’t always grasp conceptually but it makes perfect emotional sense

Day I-don't-know-what of asking Disney to release The Acolyte on Blu Ray so I can a) have a copy since I don't trust those heffas to not Willow it, b) I want deleted scenes and commentary and BTS stuff, and c) we've got just the artbook and maybe possibly some vintage collection figures coming out (I know The Stranger just came out) and then I guess that's it for Acolyte official merch. I just want the Blu-ray so I can forget Disney and its properties exist again.

I imagine too that Frey can swear but the Kingdom Hearts characters contractually CANT and she’d hold it over their heads like “ah, look at these motherfuckers, what do you guys think?” And it’s Donald Duck crashing out because he can’t say “fuck” without being bleeped by God (Mickey Mouse)

Kinda wild how most people generally recognize that the "too sick to go to school, too sick to watch tv/play games" mindset our parents had was bullshit but still impose essentially the exact same rules on disabled adults and scrutinize them for enjoying low-energy hobbies while being too fatigued or in pain to work a full time job (or any job at all)

That’s exactly how I was able to befriend my semi-feral cat, like she was PETRIFIED of me and humans in general for MONTHS after she’d been in trap-and-release programs more than once. It took a lot of patience and a lot of lessons learned in just holding space and now the little gremlin just wants to cuddle and be pet all the time and sleeps in bed with me every night. We’re very very attuned and she’s the sweetest damn cat ever who wears her emotions on her cute little calico face, like I can see the “hello my dear friend” smile in her face and in her eyes.
