I’m so damn tired lately.. I don’t know where it’s coming from..

Stress, most likely. 

Sometimes, everyone just needed their big sister, or brother, or whatever. There was only one person who could calm those fears and make her feel as though maybe, just maybe, things weren’t too bad after all. 

"Hey. Everything's going to be alright, okay? It'll all work out. I promise you that, Evie." Seeing her sister start to calm down helped Alyssa feel more at ease, but she still couldn't help but feel bad for when she'd have to head off back to college. "Are you sure? If you need me here...I can work something out." Aly placed both hands on either side of her sisters shoulder, as a way to show she was serious. "If you really need me here, don't wait til after I've gone back. I'm here for you, Evelyn."

Eli’s day had’t consisted of anything too exciting— in fact the most fun thing he’d done all day was reorganize his entire bedroom from top to bottom. So, it was sort of an understatement to say he was grateful for the chance to reconnect with Aly. He’d always taken a liking to her— sometimes, more than he’d ever really admit— and he really liked their banter. He knew he was sort of out of her league, though, so even after all this time, he’d still managed to keep himself somewhat distanced. He headed into Starbucks, his pale cheeks flushing slightly from both the cold of the outdoors and the sight of Aly in front of him. “Hi.” He grinned, biting his lip. “Is it cheesy if I tell you you look nice?”

"Very cheesy, and a false statement. You know I just woke up two hours ago, right?" Aly felt her cheeks burning as a blush crept onto her face. "You've gotten taller.." Being in his presence gave Alyssa butterflies, whether she had a boyfriend or not, those feeling would probably still remain there for Elijah. To avoid anything from feeling awkward, she grabbed Eli's arm, dragging him to the furthest away table from the door. "I figured sitting back here would save us from the cold" She placed a strand of her behind her ear and looked right into his eyes.

Intimidating? Really?

That's what I said, yes.

Then what?

I... don't know.

Then what’s the big deal? And why comment?

There is no big deal.. I uh... never mind.

The blonde nodded, glad her big sister was there as she cuddled into her and closed her eyes. She and Aly had been close growing up, and she could remember crying when they had to drop the other girl off at college, begging her parents to either move closer or let her go to college, too. Of course, to no avail. She bit down on her lip and thought about it for a second, “I-I don’t know? I think she’s already made up her mind, I let her down and there’s no going back.. dad let slip that he and mom had a baby in high school, when she was my age and they gave her up for adoption, so mom thinks it’s like.. the best thing in the world. But.. I don’t know.” 

At that moment in time, Aly was glad she'd come home when she did. Seeing her sister in such a state was tearing her apart, and quite frankly she didn't know if she could leave so soon. "I'll talk to mom about it...or I'll at least try." The brunette let out a huge sigh, she was practically talking into her sisters hair now. 

I guess that's true.

I think I could totally pull off this whole backwards hat look.
