trying to think of aus for this character is so hard because anything without magic would probably result in a serial killer. but my problem with that is that sheâd also be mentally ill and i feel like a lot of people would have issues with that combination.
iâm awful
iâm back after another mostly unannounced, unexpectedly extended hiatus.
iâm going to go through and message people who had threads going with envy and see if thereâs any interest in continuing or starting anew.
and ideally i will be able to stick around now - at least more regularly, if not daily.
Very late notice but consider this a bit of a hiatus, bills are taking out more money than I'm bringing in so I have been working a lot. They did cut hours now that the holidays are over (thanks, jerks) so I'll be working slightly less and hope to at least put out a couple posts a week. This of course also applies to my other rp blogs, which I can't link because mobile: canticleofatonement, lady-chalon, uhhh there were more and I can't remember but they should be listed on here somewhere...
Also I feel like I should say that if you want to drop a thread, just let me know. I know a month is a hella long time to be gone with so little notice.

âWeâre all ratherâŚill-equipped to handle the things out there.â
The girlâs reaction is hardly unexpected. If he were to attempt to count the number of times people within Skyhold made mention of how insignificant they feel in comparison to the threats they faced, heâd have already filled a tome. Idly, he gestured with a free hand, towards one of the few armoured members of the Order present within the keep.
âTake even the proudest Templar and ask if he thinks he can fight a demon without faltering and theyâll admit some trepidation. For you to have it is hardly a mark against your skills.â
A smile offered out of kindness and empathy finds a place on his lips, head inclined slightly.
âYou wouldnât be here if you didnât have something of value within you.â
âMakes sense; I donât imagine there is anywhere that might fully prepare you for something like this.â Amusing, she notes; mortals were hardy folk. Even while facing their doom, they would strive to overcome it. Either way, the result was something Envy could live within.
Either she would continue in her human form, playing the part of a girl that was no more, or she would simply keep it for show if the Inquisition failed and the Fade tore into this world. It had been difficult to decide which she preferred, but in the end she knew. She would never fulfill her wishes to be human if she was among none other than her kin.
âI suppose youâre right - couldnât tell you what it is I might bring to the table, but even the Inquisition has dull, meager work that needs done, if nothing else.â That was more a lie than she even realized, of course; no doubt demons brought quite a unique set of skills with them, but it was not something the others would be eager to take advantage of.
wild-mageling:
The little boy nods, thoughtfully. He doesnât seem to mind Envy double being.
~ They are things. Not people or Spirit. Just⌠Things, made of skin and not flesh, and of hunger. Not Demon of hunger. Just⌠hunger. They have been taken away, and now want to take. ~ He shrugs. ~ I canât say it better. Theyâll eat you too, if they can get at you. ~
Something is slithering outside the door, wet and slicking.Â
The child looks at the door, speculatively.
She realizes, though she is reluctant to admit it, that Envy pities these creatures. Quite honestly she didnât know exactly what it meant to pity something, but with Cassidyâs knowledge to draw on it was simple enough to ascertain.
There is no time for such a thing, though; they are dangerous, regardless of her opinions. âAnd what options have we, other than patiently waiting for them?â Surely with time, the creatures would make their way into the room. Could they fight, or would it be smarter to run? The boy seems relatively familiar with them. Logically, it makes sense to turn to him for advice on handling the situation.
After all, she has no intention of dying today. Ideally, she will not lose her host in the process.

He laughs in the face of her naked threat. âBeast, thou could try.â Cockiness has him cresting, thrusting out his chest and standing prouder for it. His grin is razor sharp and settled with needles. âI am as swift as the wind, and harder than bedrock. Thou could barely catch me lest kill me.
âBut I must do research,â he announces, abruptly. His brow settles hard, furrowed thickly above his eyes. âI have not yet dealt with you. With your kind.â He waves his hand, by the wrist, rolling it in a âgo aheadâ motion, almost impatiently.
âYou say you are envious: why? What has thou given to become envious of none other than thou? You are not content with Thyself?â
She could try, and perhaps she would - but she was not unreasonable, and she would not do so while unprovoked. âPerhaps you are, but I do not need to find your physical form to do harm.â She shrugs, a lazy motion, and dismissively waves her hand. It is hardly something Envy wishes to speak further on - it is unwise to give away all of her tactics.
Research. What does that entail, she wonders?Â
Ah.There are few things she enjoys talking about more than herself, in all honesty - this, this, is a discussion she will pursue eagerly. For now - until it takes a turn she does not approve of.Â
âWhy - why not? I have nothing - am nothing. Or at least, that was once the case.â A thoughtful hum interrupts her answer. âIt is a simple thing, and yet the explanation is not. This is not me - it will never be more than an adopted identity. What I want is to be. To feel, to think, to live. I cannot do so in the Fade, nor can I do so without a proper body.âÂ
4 posts in the queue, theyâll all be out by 8am est. 3 more drafts to go, but its 430am and i need to get to sleep.
anyways, im finally back. :âD

âAnders, the apparently single good soul in this rather terrible city.â Probably didnât help much, but that was pretty much the truth to it. She seemed relaxed going through the clothes, so he was going to go ahead and take that as a good sign.
At the very least, itâd probably help to make things not as frigid as they appeared.
Giving yet another smile, the mage shook his head in response and went about sitting down on the cot next to the box, less he ended up feeling dizzy once more. Maker, he could have honestly sworn he wasnât that tired yetâŚ
âI had offered it to you for a reason, so donât worry about me.â He gave a soft laugh. âThereâs a strange friend of mine whoâll probably show up later on with a basket of food and lots of fretting anyways. Iâll be fine.â
She blinks a few times, slowly, and then shrugs. If he wasnât interested in the bread, then she supposed it was fruitless to continue trying to offer any to him. It did seem unfair to barge into his... home? - or perhaps this was just a workplace - and begin sifting through his things and taking his food, though.
âWell, Anders the single good soul in this rather terrible city,â she begins with a smirk, despite her best efforts to keep a straight face, âIâm Cassidy.â Mostly, but she couldnât rightly explain that. Being upfront was dangerous. Even as she continues her adventure through the clothing, she occasionally glances toward him before breaking her silence again.
âYouâre one of those people who works too hard, arenât you? Exhausts yourself and your supplies for nothing in return.â Itâs more of a statement than a question; she can already tell thatâs precisely the sort of man he is. Heâs already offered her food and clothing, and all she did was barge in and invade his space.

âNow, how can I help you? Make it either profitable or very interesting, and I can almost assure you I will be willing to take up your cause.â
This woman - she knew her. While Cassidy spent as little time in Kirkwall as she could manage, it was impossible not to have heard of Hawke. And now, here she was. What to do, though? She could be straightforward, and blatantly state that she was Envy and has roosted within the girl... That brought an infinite list of risks along with it, however.
Mage or not, Hawke had no obligation not to find Templars as a response to such a confession. âWell, I suppose that depends on what you have to offer. Though I suspect a list might be unreasonable, hm?â

Why.. Why did it feel like she was being watched? âThe sooner I leave the betterâ she thought to herself as she kept walking.
She appears from the opposite direction the elf is looking, because of course she would, for no other reason than to possibly startle her. âYou seem distracted. Are you expecting someone - or something, perhaps?â

I told most people on Skype, I think, but anyways I ended up sick with some really hardcore bronchitis, and then as I got over it (which is still an ongoing process lol) I was suddenly scheduled a kabillion hours at work. I was hoping to get back into the groove of things today while I was off but I spent the entire day being lazy instead D: And Iâm back to work tomorrow.
Anyways this is just a heads up that I am not dead or gone or anything, just give me a couple more days.
Okay, I should be back to rping within the next day or two. In have actually been conscious all day instead of sleeping through it and I'm feeling pretty good C: ideally this is not different come morning and I will finally get over whatever this is
I got sick and have been working some extra hours, and as a result have been very sleepy. Replies will be coming soon, maybe tomorrow?

Jowan snorted, looking away. Â âInteresting, indeed. Â Iâve had my run ins with demons, and I have no desire to be in their company. Â I may not be the strongest mage, but I wonât be turned into an abomination. Â I heard what happened at Kinloch after I left, and I was in Redcliffe when the Arlâs son was possessed. Â That wonât happen to me. Â So, no, Iâd rather not have the attention of a demon.â
âOh, come now. Surely they are not all so bad.â She cocks a brow as she speaks, but says nothing more of it. Her opinion was surely biased, but no doubt his was as well. The difference being, she was proof that they could be âso bad.â Still, though, she chuckles quietly as she considers the situation.
âIâm afraid I wasnât around for such events, but being joined to a spirit is not always a terrible thing. It has the potential to be, yes, but there are precautions.â Another shrug, as if this were idle chatter to be had over dinner.
