<3 BAPTISTE BRUNELLO

<3 JOHN BALDESSARI
FOOT AND STOCKING (WITH BIG TOE EXPOSED)
Screenprint in colors with fabric and paper collage, 2010, signed in pencil, dated and numbered 15/45, on museum board, with the blindstamp of the publisher, Gemini G.E.L., Los Angeles, and with their inkstamp on the verso, framed sheet: 50 by 33 in. (127 by 83.8 cm.) frame: 58 5/8 by 40 5/8 in. (149 by 103.3 cm.)
John Baldessari is internationally acclaimed and acknowledged as an innovator of Conceptual Art. These dramatic, large-scale (50 x 33 inches) prints are a continuation of Baldessari’s exploration of isolated body parts, unconventional in the realm of fine art. Through careful manipulation of scale and perspective, Baldessari has created a delightful and intriguing presentation of an otherwise banal subject, and has titled each to correspond with his studio staff-member’s name, as if they were portraits. Much like his successful previous Noses & Ears series, Baldessari surprises with a juxtaposition of photography and bold sampling of color-blocking. With Foot and Stocking (With Big Toe Exposed), the viewer is equally seduced by the exposed toenail as by the larger ominous form that has been concealed.
The six bold and colorful prints recently published by the Los Angeles-based artists’ workshop, Gemini G.E.L. will be on view at Gemini G.E.L. at Joni Moisant Weyl from October 7th to November 6th. In addition, selections from this series will be presented November 3-7 at the IFPDA Print Fair. Furthermore, the New York debut of Baldessari's Foot and Stocking series is will coincide with the opening of Pure Beauty at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the first major U.S. exhibition in twenty years to survey over five decades of Baldessari's work.

<3 VINCENT KOHLER
Socks - Edition 2017, Linocut 4 colors, Dimensions 69 x 49 cm, Copies / 60 ex Publisher Lendroit edition, Rennes.
Vincent Kohler began his practice of sculpture and painting, for example by creating phantasmagoric animals, like a potato monster. These experiences led him to imagine sculptures inspired by existing objects but transformed and diverted from their original function, to which he added movement or other artifices (haunted parquet, smoking mountain, giant radish, ...). He developed a multifaceted artistic practice. between sculpture, painting, and video. He was a member of the PAC collective and its CAP exhibition venue and currently of the Abc collective. He taught drums, formed the rock group Kunst and published Bricopolis an artist's book for children.

<3 ISABELLE PLAT
Chaussette d’homme N°2, 2015 ; cheveux de Charolais feutrés ; 22 x 16 x 9 cm.
Isabelle Plat is an artist who deals with social issues with the most serious, but she does so with humor, distance and freshness. Faithful to its historical research axes, it always intervenes where it does not expect. We must not stop at the light aspect of his work, and always look for the political message behind his series of long works.Humor is the best weapon of his feminism, which is expressed by a joyous profusion of the schematic representation of the sex of the man.

<3 BASTIEN CONTRAIRE
born in 1982.
Without artistic formation, he founded with Romina Pelagatti the alternative publishing house « Papier Gaché » in 2008, wishing to publish free drawings and comics. This activity of artist and publisher allows him to experiment in multiple directions. Absurd narration , work on constraints, questions on the matter of the page: cutting devices, foldings, collages relate his work to a creative DIY.
It is by hand-making the covers of the magazine that he publishes that he adopts the technique of the stencil.
He appreciates the repetition of forms, the constraints and the use of modest means.
His first book, Les Intrus, was published in October 2016 by Albin Michel, Phaidon, Zorro Rojo and Ekdoseis Kokkino.
Printed with only two colors, he develops a minimal but still very playful approach that characterizes his practice in children's literature.
He has also created with Romina Pelagatti and Volker Zimmermann the festival Fanzines! in Paris in 2010.
This event aims to reveal the latest trends in graphic arts through the prism of micro-publishing
