I will practice coming back to the present moment, not letting regrets and sorrow drag me back into the past or letting anxieties, fears, or cravings pull me out.

Without mud, you cannot have a lotus flower. Without suffering, you have no ways in order to learn how to be understanding and compassionate. Happiness is the lotus flower, and the suffering is the mud. So the practice is how to make use of the suffering, make use of the mud, to create the flower, the happiness, and this is possible.

We are on a journey of becoming that which we already are. That is the impossible paradox of our lives.

From the moment of birth every human being wants happiness and freedom and wants to avoid suffering. In this we are all the same; and the more we care for the happiness of others the greater our own sense of each other becomes.

Notice how spirituality isn’t all rainbows and unicorns. It’s to be able to see beyond the darkness of your souls, it’s to be creative with your own lives.

Treat every moment as your last. It is not preparation for something else.

One is loved because one is loved. No reason is needed for loving.
