Let me tell you how I audibly gasped, mouth clutched with both hands, visibly shaking at how Lestat decided to embarrass the fuck out of him at that concert. My baby doll-eyed monster was living through his worst nightmare enacted by one of his greatest obsessions. Something about betrayal but also I think he deeply deserved it. A little cut down, a little reminder that he can’t control everyone’s reactions to his actions or worse— facing consequences of having hurt his loved ones. He deserves a little backlash as a treat.

I think Lestat understands this, that Armand has to be reminded occasionally that he really isn’t in control of literally everything. He knows it’s a trauma response, ya know?

But! I was shaking because I understand that concert was Armand’s Worst Case Scenario™️. The scenario he obsessively fantasies over in hopes it never happens to him but this is The Vampire Lestat, the one who never really fell under The Spell and he put a fucking spotlight on him in the middle of a room full of mortals and sung literally the stupidest song hes ever heard. Lestat probably wrote it in 15 minutes but it was specially about Armand to embarrass him.

Though… Lestat did let him read the entire Apology Note (also ™️) even if he was practically jacking it in front of the little Freakazoid.

Also I’m not really sure how I feel about Lestat telling him oh just go fucking kill yourself. I’m not saying it’s out of character but I think more than any other vampire Lestat understands that urge to obliterate and he loves Armand despite it all.
