-they’re so protective of you growing up

-but then they realize you can hold your own

-they approve of NO BOYS

-like seriously they’re so protective when it comes to boys

-Steve and Soda always spoiling you when you come go visit them at the DX

-Two is always making cake with you like dang how can someone eat so much sugar

-the boys always being so impressed

- Never made it through a whole book until his grandfather told him to read The Outsiders.

- Showed up to the audition for the movie with Emilio Estevez; they’d been friends since they were kids.

-Auditioned for Dally, Soda, Darry, and Randy.

- Literally begged Francis Ford Coppola to be in the movie.

- Broke his front teeth playing floor hockey in high school, then had first one and then both of the caps removed for the film to look more “authentic.”

- Avoided pictures on set because he was self-conscious about his teeth (according to Patrick Swayze) 

- Got punched in the jaw on accident while filming the rumble scene and then had to go and get more dental work the next day. (The dentist in Tulsa still has a picture of them together in his office.)

- Also broke his thumb filming the same scene.

- Came up with the idea for Steve’s tattoo himself.

- Supposedly showered as little as possible throughout the entire time they were shooting in order to look appropriately scruffy and dirty. (I…really hope this one isn’t true.)

- Used his relationship with his own father as inspiration for his performance, even though the details of Steve’s home life were left out of the movie.

- Decided to eat chocolate cake for 80 takes and thought he was going to die.

- Overate at lunch one day and didn’t feel well enough to do the flip off of the truck before the rumble so S.E. Hinton had him swallow raw eggs until he threw up.

- Wouldn’t let Rob Lowe win the arm-wrestling contest even though that was what was supposed to happen in the script.

- Got the script for Risky Business while filming The Outsiders.

- Invited Diane Lane to audition with him because he had a crush on her.

- Got yelled at by Diane Lane’s father for asking her to play a hooker.

- Lived on Rob Lowe’s couch at some point in the 80s.

- Asked Emilio Estevez to be the best man at his first wedding.

Two-Bit: Let’s flip a coin to decide. 

Steve: Good idea. We need assign “heads” to something. 

Two-Bit: Okay, uhm… Oh! Ducks is heads because ducks have heads!

Dally: No.

Ponyboy: What do you mean no?

Ponyboy: That would be grass.

Darry: Fine. Except for this headache. Comes and goes.
