...funnily enough hands are the bane of my existence 😭 I mainly force myself to draw them in weird poses so I get used to them better.

I use a lot of reference for hands, mainly by taking pictures of my own hands or other people, depending on the complexity and if there's more hands interacting with each other. I then try to replicate what I see and divide it into simple box shapes, that I then tweak depending on whose hands I'm depicting. (I have a boxy palm with long fingers and short nails, so if I'm drawing fem!Light for example, I keep the position the same but thin out the fingers, soften the hand and grow the nails). I like to exaggerate hand poses as well to make them more readable, and when two or more fingers are flush together I don't really bother detailing the individual fingers.

I'm only now checking my inbox and uhhh my god i have the most milquetoast lawlight headcanons. Most of these are Yotsuba arc related.

- L much prefers pre/post Yotsuba Light. The Yotsuba arc was a great way for Light to get closer with L, but it was the most boring version of Light to L. There wasn't the thrill of danger.

- Light is a sleeptalker, and frequently has nightmares. ESPECIALLY during the Yotsuba arc, because while his mind doesn't remember, his body does. But since the things he mumbles about cannot be taken as evidence, it drives L crazy.

- They definitely fought a million more times than was shown on-screen LOL.

- Light is the designated big brother™ and even though L is older, he is worse at taking care of himself. Light starts taking care of L in small ways, like making sure he's properly brushing his teeth, at least eating something with vitamins in it, etc, out of sheer habit rather than liking L. Overtime these things just kind of stick and they become very normal in their day to day life, including very casual touches, etc.

- L straight up haunts Light after he dies. Not as an actual ghost, but the memory of him never fades.

- Something within Light fully died on the same day that L died. I like to believe that the last shred of sanity he had, fully left his body after L's death.

- L kept Light's watch after he died? Light kept one of L's shirts.
