Oysters. Once plentiful in London on the Thames - so much so that they were good food for the poor – these days the river in the city is too heavily modified, and the tidal flow too strong, to allow for the establishment of oyster beds. These five were among many dozens washed up on the shore at Queens Quay near Southwark Bridge.
