Gin ichimaru the person(the child) was left behind in favour of gin the snake,the snake captain,aizen's right hand,unlike a spy,who has his new role and his actual personality,gin never made gin ichimaru grow up truly,causing him to never develop adult coping mechanisms,hobbies and likes,or even any genuine bond beyond rangiku

Furthermore,his "plan" really sounds childish(as in something a child would do),he saw something taken and he'll get it back
