I wrote this as a shorter comment on that particular post, but in the case that I am blocked and my comment will thus be un-shown, I want to make it absolutely clear:

First of all, that comment I left on the confession blog was "in general" about a certain group of people. I did not mention any names or any accounts.
Do not assume you know who I am PERSONALLY talking about when I mention a group of people go out of their way to block me when I CONTINUE TO NOT MENTION NAMES.
You do not have the right to then go to someone and decide it was them specifically, individually, that I was talking about.
The are groups of people in this world that I don't like. There are groups of people in this world that you and the next person do not like.
I will NEVER advocate for wishing death and REAL HARM on someone, as much as I may loath them due to their ideals.
So I will NEVER support and encourage anyone else to do the same, especially while using my name in the process.
Apparently radqueers are starting become a real issue in proship spaces all around, not just in the Osomatsu-san fandom.
Some have a theory that this is a coordinated ruse in order to stir chaos from within the proship spaces by the antis.
And now seeing someone send a message like this to someone that appears to be a radqueer, while using my name (me: a loud proshipper/darkshipper in this fandom), referencing something I said elsewhere, prior to the anon giving a death-wish, what the fuck do you think that looks like??

Fanfiction Websites You Have and Havenโt Heard Of, an Incomplete Guide
This was going to be a reblog to a post I saw floating past in the Wattpad tag, but I decided making it its own post was politer. If you say anything impolite to OOP Iโm breaking into your house and gnawing through all your shoelaces.

I understand why it feels that way. As the internet gets less and less user friendly and search engines destroy themselves, itโs harder and harder to find smaller or lesser known websites. That doesnโt mean they arenโt there, though! Iโm going to divide the sites under the cut into categories for ease of reading. Many of the links below go to websites that host explicit content, but none of them go directly to that content.
At the time of original posting, there are 24 sites listed here. (Edit: up to 32!) Please tell me about other active fanfiction websites in the notes.

The Big Three
Archive of Our Own
Run by the nonprofit Organization for Transformative Works, which also runs the Fanlore wiki, the peer-reviewed academic journal Transformative Works and Cultures, the Open Doors project for archiving at-risk fannish projects, and a fannish legal advocacy project.
Users must be thirteen or older. Allows both fanfiction and original work. Does not allow commercial content. See the Terms of Service here.
Fanfiction.net
At one time, FFN was the internetโs largest fanfiction site. Older anime and manga fandoms especially have many works found there and nowhere else. Its sister site FictionPress, which split off in 2003, is an archive of original fiction and poetry.
Does not allow explicit content, real-person fiction, songfic, reader inserts, works in the second person point of view, or fanfiction of works by twelve authors and publishers who have expressed that they do not want fanfiction of their IP.
Wattpad
Allows both fanfiction and original work. Does not allowโฆ Iโm just going to link this summary by @orangestorapples.

Once a Buffy/Angel archive hosted on Geocities. Became multifandom in response to the 2002 Fanfiction.Net adult content ban.

Animexx.de
One of the largest German-language fanfiction archives. Also functions as a messageboard and social hub. Primarily hosts anime and manga fics.
Does not allow sexual content featuring children under fifteen, bestiality, necrophilia, cannibalism, glorification of violence or Naziism, chatfics, authorโs notes in the middle of fics, begging for comments, selling fanart, or insulting lurkers (today I learned the German word for lurker).

A German-language archive of fanfiction, original work, and meta.
Does not allow fanfiction of works by Diana Gabaldon or J.R. Ward, RPF about certain celebrities who have sent in legal threats, or, due to a weird copyright claim from an eyeglass manufacturer, Avatar: The Last Airbender fics featuring the fan-created Lightbender ability.
Stories featuring content that may be disturbing for children, such as positive characterization of criminals, are only accessible at night or after once-a-month ID verification. Does not allow content dangerous for the development of children, including pornography. Also does not allow chatfics, extensive linking within stories, chapters which are not part of the story, or especially bad grammar and spelling.

Allows both fanfiction and original work.
Fimfiction
An archive of fanfiction related to the My Little Pony franchise and associated properties.
Does not allow AI-generated works, copyrighted song lyrics not from My Little Pony, sexual content featuring human or anthropomorphic characters under the age of eighteen, script or chat format, especially poor spelling and grammar, non-English works, or chapters that are not part of the story itself.
Inkitt
An original work and fanfiction platform with built-in monetization options.
Does not allow stories featuring rape, incest, bestiality, nude images, promotion of violence, self harm or content glorifying suicide, translations of othersโ work (even if authorized), or sexual content involving characters under the age of eighteen.
Jedi Council Forums
Primarily a Star Wars forum, but does have a smaller amount of fanfiction of other properties.
Does not allow NSFW content or links to NSFW content, profanity (must be completely replaced with asterisks), or promotion of minors using drugs or alcohol.
MediaMiner
This was the anime and manga fanfiction archive in the early 2000s. Hosts both fanfiction and fanart. These days, parts of it have long been broken and moderation is scarce. Plenty of authors continue to post there.
Merengล
The largest Hungarian fanfiction archive, originally founded for Harry Potter fic. Allows both fanfiction and original work. I would be very grateful to any Hungarian speaker willing to summarize their content guidelines, because my machine translation didnโt cut it.

Quotev
Billed as a quiz and story website, Quotev has had a thriving fanfiction community since 2008. Users must be thirteen or older.
Does not allow visual depictions of sexually explicit content or graphic violence.
Royal Road
Primarily for original work, but has a large fanfiction community. Has an inbuilt option for authors to profit from their work. Users must be thirteen or older. They note that they will remove copyright infringing content if the holders request it.
Does not allow erotica or sexual content involving underage characters.
Scribble Hub
Allows both original work and fanfiction. Does not allow donation links on fanfiction, translations, stories not in English, porn without plot, sexual content featuring characters under eighteen, stories encouraging nonconsensual sex acts, depictions of bestiality or necrophilia, or AI-generated works.
Spacebattles
A forum-style website especially popular with science fiction fans and fans of the webserial Worm. Allows both fanfiction and original work.
Does not allow direct links to NSFW content, sexualization of real or fictional minors, the use of slurs pertaining to a variety of queer, religious, or racial groups, torture fanfics or โcruelty porn,โ or untranslated non-English content.
SufficientVelocity
A forum style site that allows both fanfiction and original work.
Does not allow pornographic content or depictions of minors in sexual or graphically violent situations.

Iโve broken these out into their own category to highlight that this is a thing you can do. Several of these are hosted by just one person with money for hosting space or servers.
Ad Astra
An archive of Star Trek fanworks and meta, originally hosted on eFiction in 2009. Currently you need to contact the owner on Discord to get an invitation.
Does not allow RPF unless the person is a historical figure who has been dead for over fifty years. Also does not allow commercial content.
Comic Fanfiction Authors Archive
An archive for fanworks of comic books and comic-adjacent animation. Shares ownership with Ad Astra. You have to join their Discord to ask for an invitation. It has strict tagging rules. Has the infrastructure for queerplatonic and adversarial relationships along with / and &.
Users must be sixteen or older. Does not allow commercialization or any mention of commissions. Underage sexual content is allowed, but must be warned for and archive-locked. RPF is not allowed, with the exception of politicians, historical figures who have been dead for at least fifty years, and Stan Lee cameos.
fanfiction.lol
An archive of fanfiction and original work. In addition to AO3โs archive warnings, it has mandatory warnings for RPF, racism, queerphobia, ableism, colonialism, and systemic oppression.
Does not allow sexual content involving characters under eighteen, AI-generated works, large verbatim excerpts of copyrighted material, translations or podfics of othersโ work made without permission, or commercial content.
The SquidgeWorld Archive
Founded in 2020, SquidgeWorld was the first website to take advantage of AO3โs open source code base. It is a direct descent of the archive The Wonderful World of Makebelieve and allows both fanfiction and original work. Itโs owned by Walter Hopgood, who also runs Squidge.org. Squidge.org offers a variety of web hosting, archival, and mailing list services to fan creators. Squidge Images, an image hosting site, is a particularly beloved offshoot.
In addition to / and & relationships, Squidgeworld has a system for queerplatonic (~) and adversarial (VS) relationships. Underage sexual content is allowed, but must be warned for and archive locked. Commercial links are not allowed anywhere except in the notes of wholly original work. AI-generated works are also not allowed.
Sunset Archive
A femslash-centric archive of fanfiction and original work. Holds monthly prompt memes. Users must be eighteen or older.
Does not allow commercial content, AI-generated works, sexual RPF of people under the age of eighteen, or hyperrealistic visual art depictions of children under the age of fourteen that could be mistaken as real.
superlove
superlove is self-hosted on a MacBook running Linux. Itโs named after the Tinashe song. You have to email the admin to get an invitation. Users must be sixteen or older.
Does not allow sexual content featuring characters under the age of sixteen or sexual content about real life underage people. Also does not allow spite fic, commercial content or discussions thereof, or AI-generated works.

Founded in response to content restrictions at the now-defunct skyhawke archive. Allows both fanfiction and original work, though users must have posted fanfiction before posting original work to the site.
Does not allow fanfiction of works by authors who do not approve of fanfiction or RPF of people who have not been dead for at least fifty years.
Chanceโs Slash Archive
Hosts fanfiction and fanvids. You need to email the archivist to have your work posted there.
Chaos
Hosts both fanfiction and original work.
Works must be canon compliant and beta read. Out of character works are rejected. Chapters must be at least 500 words long. For epilogues the minimum is reduced to 300 words. Links within stories are not allowed. Sexual content featuring characters under the age of seventeen is not allowed.
Literotica
Primarily an archive of original erotica, Literotica also has a small fanfiction-writing community. RPF is by far the most common subcategory. Also hosts audio and artwork. Users must be over eighteen.
Does not allow sexual content about characters under eighteen, material supporting child abuse or exploitation, RPF of celebrities that are under eighteen in real life even if aged up, bestiality, sexualized death, vore, sexualized maiming, ravishment fantasies the victim does not enjoy in-text, rape, promotion of real life sex work, heavy political or religious focus (including works starring politicians or religious figures), advertisements, partial or โteaserโ works, AI generated works, or visual representations of nudity (real or artwork).

You know what I fantasize a lot about? Like for a good 5+ years now---if watching "write streams" was /a thing/ and had the amount of interest that drawing/illustrations streams did.
I know the idea of this would make many writers hearts stop. I know many writers would be super uncomfortable being /watched/ as they write, and that's valid.
But from my point of view, I would find it fascinating.
"Oh, so they originally went with that word to describe their feeling? Interesting that they decided to change the structure of the sentence afterwards. Huh, they deleted this whole paragraph? Oh wait, I remember that deleted paragraph from the previous chapter! Now it's going in this current one instead!"

I think I've officially decided to take the summer off from writing Loose Ends.
It's too difficult for me to write fanfiction when it's ass hot.
And being in NYC with the smog/smoke on top of it.
And I write better when it is dark.
Hate these long daylight hours.
I started writing Loose Ends in September 2025. The fall.
So I'll pick it up again next month.
